Help with side quests

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 7:37 am

Look I am new to ES, and I just did the main quests and some rare side quests, but my problem is:

When a side quest says: go find "for example" that priest or that person or that location, I go into the start menue(PS3) and click "show on map" and it just shows a random location without a marker.(and when I go to that location there is no quest.

Look I know from previous threads that I created, that most of you guys are rude, ueber pros at skyrim, who are at level 1000, and would never help a newb like me to get enough expierience to get to something like smithing level 30.

But you could at least try, and tone the rudeness a lil down

(edit: Ps.: And don't mind my grammer, english is my 3rd language ((see how defensive you made me)))

You need to make the quest active before you get your specific map marker. Note, you can have more than one quest active at a time, so you might end up with lots of map markers.

So, make the quest you want active, then tell it to show you on the map.

Also, sometimes Side Quest NPCs move around, so it can be that they are in the middle of nowhere.

Miscellanious quests have to be selected twice.
You first select the miscellanious section of your quest menu, then the specific quest you want to pursue.
This is different from bigger, named quests that you only have to select once for the quest arrow to turn up.
Good luck :)

What system are u on? If you're on PS3 like me, you best press start and make sure you selected a quest in the left row. then go the right row and click on the quest you wanna do. You will see that an arrow is displayed now. if you're on PS3 click on the square button, that will directly brings you to the position where the quest is. Hope this helped.

I want as many markers on the map as possible, because I need a lot more experience and side quests are fun.

But I don't think I get the "make active" button or something, because I can't see it. I just click on the quest and then click on show on the map

Like the poster said above, choose Misc on the left, then choose the specific quest on the list on the right. You don't want to many map markers at once. It clutters up the compass when you are trying to figure out where to go. The quests will stay in the list until you complete them.
