Collecting stuff

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 8:57 pm

In FO 3 and NV I enjoyed collecting wierd things and setting up a display in my house. I wanted to start with boots here. There is a pretty good varity, they have no high value and its emersion i guess.
Problem is I have a real hard time compared to the other mentioned games getting them to sit right and stay where I put them.
So a two part question, anybody else collect things, other than gold, and is there a good way to display way you collect?
We need a 'Staff of Duct Tape'
On a pc so can mod if there is anything helpful there.
Thanks......

Sadly, there seems to be no way to keep things where you put them. I'm like you: Every unique item, every claw key, one of every book. Gotta catch em all.

I have a nice little colletion of Troll & Huminoid skulls. The cool thing is that they're different sizes of each. The Trolls are on the floor in the back room of my house in Whiterun, and the Humans are in a open wooden box in the same location. They never seem to move either, unlike that raw rabbit leg that keeps jumping off the buffet! :bunny:

For some reason some items will stay put, while others explode upon walking in to my house. It drives me mad!

I collect books, and most unique items.

At least Skyrim will stand books and weapons on their shelves/displays for you. In Oblivion, you had to manually drag everything onto the shelf and hope it didn't keep falling over, onto the ground. I usually just kept everything in chests there.

Yes, merchants need to sell super glue to keep our stuff in place.

I have a small collection of helmetshttp://i1254.photobucket.com/albums/hh611/Trace9569/HPIM1150.jpg for some reason the only one I have a problem with is the dwemer helmet, everytime I walk in the door it's on the floor. Since this pic I added another helmet and put the dwemer helmet on the dinning room table. It doesn't stay their either but it's not as hard to put back. The other helmet's I have had no problems with.

I have a few decorations with another char at the Markarth house.http://i1254.photobucket.com/albums/hh611/Trace9569/HPIM1102.jpg http://i1254.photobucket.com/albums/hh611/Trace9569/HPIM1093.jpg The only thing I had a real problem with was the Statue and that was Argis giving it back to me. It did hit the floor once, but usually most of the stuff does that anyway. OH and getting it faced the right way.
