Does Skyrim bring anything new to the table? It feels like I paid and ate this supper 5 times before.

If you are sure you played it before, then no. Otherwise, yes

A lot of games are like that, for me anyway, but Skyrim still manages to astound me on occasion.

I played morrowing, oblivion, fallout 3, fallout new Vegas, so this is the 5th time I'm playing it.

I echo the OP's sentiment. However, the crafting elements bring a lot to the table. I can now RP minor jobs like miner, farmer, hunter etc.. I also like how there is only one guildhall for each guild rather than oblivions fighters guild in every city. Like when I have to travel to the college of WH for any reason, it feels like 3 day journey to a mountaintop monestary or something. Skyrim has the scale Oblivion never had. The road to the college is a difficult treacherous journey, and I love that feeling.

Most companies are like that. They have one vision for a game, and they continually remake it. Names, graphics, genres change. But the core game usually remains the same.

Been plenty of this since release, but lately it's been...interesting. At least some have actually demonstrated knowing what the word "subtle" means, if that's to be any credit for their efforts at being a waste of time.
