When this was first mentioned am I the only one who thought that you would get an entirely different effect when you combined two different spells?

IDK but Kingdom of Amalur actually makes me feel like the destroyer of worlds I hoped I could be in Skyrim.

Well that was what Todd did promise eh? I guess that would be like making custom spells so they had to take it out of the game. I stopped wasting my time trying to figure this one out.

Just another broken Todd promise. This is why I don't listen to what spews out of his mouth. Makes an awsome game less fun when you know, what it "could" have been.

Probably. I don't know why you'd think that combining two firebolt spells would give you a different affect than a firebolt.

but a fire bold and frost or lighting or healing was suppose to do something different, or make a great combination.

Thank goodness I thought I was the only one.

i dont know its a pretty satisfying combining two icy spears and impaling some unfortunate bandit in one hit and watching him go flying with a 5 foot icicle sticking through him

I really expected the combination of two magics or magic and equipment to do something different.

An active bonus as it were...

Slash and Burn - Sword + Fire spell = Fire damage over time

Enchanting does that though

Thought maybe fire and lightning would give an added status or ailment like paralyze...

I certainly expected something other than impact.

But, hey, at least we can jump and create characters right?

How's that going for KoA? :P

I thought the same thing. I was expecting crazy effects when combo'ing different spells.

Since we are on spells, are the only spells that "power up" where the character does the hand motions and then releases the attack only in the form of scrolls?

Right. In that case, I do believe Todd said you wouldn't be able to combine different spells. Or it was in an article somewhere. I knew well before the game was released that it wouldn't do anything.

If I understand you correctly, the answer is no. When you do the spells calling up minions like the daedra lord, and the thralls, the character goes through a whole set of motions and then releases the actual spell.

Hope that's what you're looking for?

I am pretty sure Todd said you could combine two different spells and get a new effect or at least I got that impression. I know that latter on closer to release he said you could not mix two spells to get a new effect.

I had the same impression for a bit. I think it was in the video demonstrating one of those repel undead circles, but I don't recall, though it was later stated that we wouldn't be able to combine spells.

I think you got it.

I'm not talking about charging a spell. Just ones that the guy goes through a range of motions, builds up power, and then attacks.

Also are the undead circles spells scoll only too?

nah, im pretty sure that its just a really high restoration spell (expert or master) so you will have to level that up to either 60 or 90 to get access to the spell.

and now on topic, yea, im pretty disappointed at how dual casting firebolt together would not make much of an combination difference, but it would even be ANIMATED the same. they didn't even bother to make the firebolt noticeably bigger.

No the first circle spell is expert.

If you have a restoration skill level or about seventy five check the College to see it its being sold.
