How do you do those cool finishers?

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 2:49 am

I asked this question before shortly after Skyrim released and those who answered my post thought there was no way to perform these cool VATS-like executions. Now that the gamehas been out for some time I wanted to see if anyone had found out that there is in fact a sort of strategy on how do do these executions. So does anyone know if there is a way on how to do them most of the time or is it in fact, a random occurence.

They just happen on the last enemy and are random if the enemy has less health as your attack will make damage. Same goes for enemies which do more damage then you got health they do a finishing move on you.

As far as I know. It is more likely if:

You use Unrelenting Force on your enemy to stun them prior to attacking them again.

You are more likely to perform it if you click your attack button simulatenously after your previous attack connects with the target.

Power attacks also make it more likely.

I don't think they are random ; I'd say they could be the result of a combination or sequence of clicks fast executed and the amount of health remaining in your opponent.

I think there is a perk that will, a certain % of the time, let you decapitate someone in battle - just the gift for those finisher lovers out there.

I think it only happens if you get a critical hit. Something dies in one strike. I did it on a dragon in Solitude once. Some perks increase your chance of critical hits.

power attacks usually mean a finisher and it is usually on the last enemy as well, Also I too wish they had included magic finishers and arrow finishers, they did it as part of skyRIM GAME JAM, but it isn't in the game :teehee:

I never had a finisher with an powerattack. He killed the enemy instant without finisher. The perk decaptive doesn't is needed for a finisher. There are also stabbing finisher or if you use a warhammer, a head smash finisher. Not all are decaptive moves.

Was taking screens while testing my new Claymore and must say did like the 2 handed finishing move that sticks the weapon clear through the victim and lifts them off the ground -- ( http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc189/JDFanning_bucket/CELTICCLAYMORE.jpg )

Yes but it is not the only one for two handed. I had a finisher with a two handed sword on a Draugr where my Character sliced his leg and then his body.

I always thought it happens when your enemy's health is low and your stamina is not depleted.

It works if you stun/stagger your enemy when he's on low health & then attack him.

You get a finishing move if your strike will kill the enemy in one blow, either because your that powerful or they have that much health depleted. It also has to be the last enemy in the area. I don't think it is for the cell, but the immediate area.

I don't seem to get them on enemies I can one shot, like wolves or skeevers, so I think it also has to be a battle where blows are exchanged.

I've gotten finishing moves on wolves. I kick them and then hit them with wy weapon.
