A trip around the edge of skyrim just for something to do

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 7:19 am

Im playing as a hunter at the moment which is fun, i think itd be fun to just follow round the edge of the map and see if it would be a fun adventure.

I have a feeling itll be decent fun. even if it isnt oh well. - not enturely sure how long itll take, probly not that long in all fairness :P

no fast travelling is basically the only rule :P

anyone else done something similar.

I've found some things in the mountains around the edge. I'm curious about the north edge, in the Sea of Ghosts. If I were the game designer, I'd put some cool treasure on the sea floor up there, just to reward anyone who goes to the trouble. I'll have to run an Argonian some day and go look.

I am planning to do this too (I had a thread about it only 1-2 days ago). On my current list of things to pack are:

- Pickaxe, which I always have with me.
- Woodcutter's axe so I can help out for a few days at some of the mills.
- Cure Disease potions. Needs no explanation.
- My dog Mekoo (he did belong to someone else, but the owner has died. So the doggy is mine now. )
- My house carl. No wife yet.
- Torches, for me and my follower.
- Fortify Carry Weight gear for me and my follower. I will have a hard time not to pick up everything I see.

Not sure when I will start as I still have a few open quests, but I will keep collecting ideas for the trip.

weapons enchanted with huntsmans prowess for added rp damage ;)

gunna wait for a few levels so its worthwhile yet

You will find cool places and much will happen (i guess) and hope.

I've completely gone around Skyrim between 3 of my characters.

It's quite interesting, the places you find out there. Like that crazy mage way north of the mages college; several ship wrecks south east of the mages college (there's a quest there, too), and also way up north before you get to Solitude. Oh, and also a slew of dungeons/caves.

Also, if you mine and take smithing, take a pickaxe, lots of nodes - couple of mines loaded with them, lots of animals to skinn.

And if you use your hud - heads up display - it's easier finding stuff - shipwrecks look like boats with a big sail, etc. It helps now and then to see where something is.

Stay off the roads, and life is interesting lol.

Good luck.

I haven't done this in Skyrim yet but I used to do it all the time in Morrowind. Each new character would swim and jog around the entirety of Vvardenfell and Solstheim near the beginning. It was a kind of rite-of-passage. At level 4 or 5 it was quite an adventure!

I was never motivated to do this in Oblivion, but I plan to start doing it again in Skyrim. What you describe sounds like a lot of fun!

I like the treasure idea, I figure an argonian should have at least the benefit of finding something good in being a lizard. Like treasure. Cause otherwise I don't like the idea of an Argonian

I've done this quite a bit. I've found some cool things. Like dead adventures, loot etc. I did scour the bottom of the ocean for quite a while and unfortunately never found anything in the ocean depths. That could just mean I looked in the wrong spots. Fun though
