Is Skyrim for PC worth it?

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 11:34 pm

It is totally worth it. Since I am in Chian right now I have only my laptop. It's price was 760€ 16 months ago (should be around 500 now) and runs the game on high settings with around 30 fps in outside terrain. I also have some mods installed that gave me some performance hit (lush grass, lush trees and flora overhaul mainly), but with Skyboost that is fine. I run about 71 mods right now. This includes many minor things like new textures but also bigger mods such as the named above and "sixy villages and towns", "realistic lighting", as well as "realistic water textures". I don't use the official Highres dlc.

Runs fine and hell, I won't ever go back to vanilla ;).

Mods dont mean everything like most people think. If you just have a pc then get skyrim for it, cause its great. If you have a console then just get for it cause console seems to run more somthly then pc. Just my opinon

Than your PC maybe. I never have any hiccuping or stuttering. You are likely to experience this on a console.

There's no reason not to play it on pc (if you have that possibility)
Besides the mods, the sheer amount of self fixing and general on-the-fly maintenance you can do through console commands is invaluable.

This goes for any Bethesda game.

Totally agree to the others: get it on PC. You can play it again and again - and every month, every year, there will be new mods to try. On Console will you always get the same game, on PC you can have several modded versions and all can be so different from the others that it is nearly a new game.

I played Skyrim on the console for about 2 months before acquiring it for the pc. I definitely enjoyed it just as much as the pc, but the mods on the pc are simply amazing and will allow you to play however you choose.

Never thought of that... So how would you go about doing that?
