It's the little things that make the difference.

Anyone seen http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/504638771996717119/B38982825BE6DEAF80D0892401A6EDAB6CB1AC87/ before? The pic isn't very good, but basically, some poor dude had a heavy stone tied to him and thrown over a large waterfall. Or did he throw himself? He has a steel helmet and cuffed boots on, and his weapons were nearby, which to me suggests ritual suicide. I'll have to go back there and see if I can find any more clues :D.

Wish Skyrim had more things like this. I got  of FO3 really fast, but it was filled to the brim with little secrets like this which was the only reason I found exploring tolerable (copy/paste 'dungeons' made me hate the game).

There's lots of skeletons of people who met gruesome ends throughout skyrim. Have you seen the one who was reaching for his ale as the wall fell on top of him? Or the one under the massive boulder, with just his head and arms sticking out?

Lady of the Lake holding up an Elven sword, dead merchants' diaries, who the hell would camp all the way up here? A hagraven, that's who. There are little details all over if you do some serious exploring.

There's that "Lucky" guy who had the tree fall on his house near the submerged prison too.

Whenever I bump into such little things, I always hope that there is a quest somewhere out there that will tell the whole/true story about what happened there. Or/and I get frustrated that I didn't pick up the corresponding quest before I arrived to the spot, and that I'm OMG totally screwed, and now I'll never know the story :D Like what's with the little lovers' nest - the tent with the bed of roses ©, wine, cakes and amulet of Mara. Nobody's there, their boots are in the tent, where did they go, what happened to them? Or you free a random woman in some dungeon, she tells you a sad story about her lost daughter who's supposed to be in a certain city, I hope to meet that daughter in that city for continuation of that story, but I never do, and I'm frustrated that I did something wrong or in the wrong order. Apparently it's possible to do quests in the wrong order and get screwed. Like I talked to some guy in some prison and he gave me a Misc quest. I reloaded and skpped that encounter, met some other people who now directed me to the prisoner, and now it was an official named quest.

Oh, forgot the big dungeon with the vampires and skeletons, one of whom was a shoe fetishist.
Spoiler
Shriekwind bastion, IIRC.

yeah, these encounters are fun....
Spoiler
a few days ago, I was exploring the very southeast corner of Skyrim, when I saw a burned-down house somewhere. Went to checkout what had happened, and saw a burned corpse laying on the floor....lying right next to him/her (?), was a scroll of Conjure Flame Atronauch, which was the only clue LOL.
Guess something went out of control there :P

there's LOTS of this stuff, pretty much everything you see around skyrim has its own back story, it's just up to you to find it or understand it.
