How do you pick up corpses?

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 12:05 pm

I keep reading about people moving dead bodies here and there or throwing them off cliffs. How do you actually do that? As far as I can tell, you can't pick up a corpse. So do you just walk/push into them to make them move, or am I missing something.

If you hold down the button you use to take things you can move them, works both for objects and corpses.

Sure you can. Start off by saying "hello" and try to start a conversation that suits the moment. After a while you can comment on how beautiful his/her eyes are. Then the ball is rolling :)

If you get close to a body and hold down the E key (on PC) it will grab the object you are looking at instead of accessing their inventory. Seems to work best in first person mode. On a console I would guess it works the same way, you would hold down whatever button you use to activate instead of just pushing it.

Ah, I see my mistake now. I always started out by saying "If I told you you had a great dead body, would you hold it against me?". That pretty much always made them reanimate themselves and run screaming from me.

Seriously, thanks to everyone for the help. You learn something every day. I'm now looking forward to a productive career in corpse rearranging.

For a while, I didn't know how to do this either. This is the sort of thing, like adjusting the camera in third person view, that should be explained somewhere in the game. A lot of people go through hundreds of hours of gameplay without even knowing they can do these things.

What I take from this is a significant portion of PC players use default keys. How strange.

Yeah... I have to wonder why the female draugr never wear anything but underwear, it's a bit creepy sometimes.

Moving bodies is one of the few things that is more complex in Skyrim than Morrowind. Bask in it's glory. Bask in it naked in front of your monitor.
