Thalmor... DLC?

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 4:52 am

There's a lot Bethesda could do with the Thalmor. The Thalmor are like a Skyrim version of the illuminati. They control everything, while the imperials are just puppets. They have a tremendous amount of power and influence, and are critical to the storyline. There is, however, very little player interaction with the Thalmor and there are few quests with them. I would like to see more of the Thalmor and learn more about them. I would love to see a new DLC with the Thalmor.

What do you guys think?

It would be amazing, there wasn't enough quest dealing with them and the fact that I personally hate them

Definitely would like to see it. Would be interesting to learn more about them.

Maybe they could add in Thalmor robes that aren't all enchanted with 12% destruction as well. Here's hoping.

The Illuminati disappeared a decade or two after founding and was little more than a tea party of a few buddies. If I had to pick something the Thalmor resembles it's Imperial Japan. Careful management of puppet states, divide and conquer tactics, funding civil conflicts in enemy nations for own gain and presenting themselves as saviors of their race against a foreign invader.

Anyway I suspect that the Thalmor will at least make appearance in a DLC or the next Elder Scrolls. I hope it's the latter since I'd love a ES set in Summerset Isles or Hammerfell.

If said DLC involves crushing them, then one of my characters and I approve. I detest their arrogance and attitude to other races, and Kiva has had enough bad run-ins with the swines to tilt her opinion of them to the negative end of the scale.

I think i would need more then an DLC to crush the Thalmor. Would be cheesy if you just go and kill them all while an whole army can't do anything against them. TES Rambo.

Actually, as I was saying to my husband this morning, what I would like would be to observe Thalmor operations in other provinces, particularly High Rock and Hammerfell, maybe Daggerfall City and some geographically limited portion of Southern Hammerfell. Certainly those two Redguards running around Skyrim harrassing innocent women have the feel of a hook ...

I too feel like the Thalmor almost exist in Skyrim just to setup an expansion pack.

For one thing, isn't there any sort of Altmer "resistance" movement - Altmer who don't agree with the Thalmor, and seek to undermine and eventually overthrow the Thalmor? Altmer who are still loyal to the Empire? As others have said, what's happening in the rest of the provinces?

Before I mention Khajiit in space again, think about this : you just got Oblivion, you wish there was more to the Blades, please can they make a dlc with them in? Then you get Shivering Isles. Still want a Thalmor expansion, or a complete curve-ball? Like, say, Khajiit in space?
