2 Handed Questions

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 1:50 pm

So i'm going to be doing a two handed barbarian and I had a few questions. First of all, heavy or light armor? I like the protection that heavy gives but I also like the mobility that light gives. Second question, hammer or greatsword. I've heard that hammers are the best but they have one flaw. I plan on doing the Companion's questline and as a result will be recieving a Skyforge steel weapon. Unfortunately, Eorlund Gray-Mane doesn't make Skyforge steel hammers. Besides that, the only thing that I really like about greatswords is their speed. Your answer will be greatly appreciated.

Heavy armor. Once you finish its perkline it doesnt matter anyway because it weighs nothign and will not slow you. You could also get the sign of the steed to make it so your trvel at max speed regardless of armor type and carry more. When it comes to weapon it ireally come down to preference, Hammer EAT PEOPLE. A power attack from a two handed warhammer will eat the enemies stamina as well asnegate a alrge portioniof their armor with the perk. However Greatsword have a higher critical chance and are 10x cooler imo.

I wouldn't base my playstyle on getting the Skyforged Steel weapon, by the time your that far alomg in the questline you will likely already have a better weapon. Most of my play so far has been with one form or another of greatsword, though I gave the 2 handed axe a go for a couple of quests. Hamer does have some apeal and I will probably give that a try as well before to long.

I like the greatsword better, but that's JMO. I also prefer light armor.

Just a thought, at low lvl's, I think I'd go with heavy armor if I was going to use a hammer, as they have a slower swing speed. Not that I can "see" a big difference, but it's suposed to be their. On the chance that you might get hit more often using a slower weapon the heavy armor would come in handy.

As posted above at higher lvl's it doesn't really matter.
