Which religion would you have if you were in Skyrim?

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 1:19 pm

The question is clear!
which of the Divines would you choose?
or would you choose to be a Talos worshiper?
or ...
I don't mean to explain religious thought, It's fictional.

None. Only once they serve some purpose.

Like being able to do a quest for a temple, and along the way, you are helped by an avatar of the very Divine whose temple you are helping with. Then you look back and gasped, because the Divine gave you his/her personal artifact as thanks for helping him/her. You then have an in-game religious experience and became a devout worshipper of said Divine.

Right now there seems to be no structure to Divine worshipping, and there are no benefits or consequences. You can just go to every temple, and click on all statues. Polytheism at work.
Clicking on Talos' shrine won't get Thalmor people dragging me through the night.

Meridia worshipper. Every zombie film in existance reinforces this, and considering its a real threat in Tamriel, i'd go there.
Plus, Daedra actually do things, for the better or the worse, far more often than the gods do.

None.

And none of my characters find any of the in-game 'gods' are worth worshipping either.

Depends on the character
Vriddi worships Malacath
Angharad hasn't really thought about it, but will go with whoever helps her short-term
Griselda serves Sithis
Hildi worships Talos
Bella is much too vain and self-centered to serve/worship any god

None.

Well, maybe Sheogorath. But that is a life style.

I think you are using the word religion wrong. Compare Tamriel to ancient Greece: they had one religion with many gods. Each individual could choose a favorite god to worship, yet they all had the same religion.

what ever religion that wants to exterminate all religion including ones own religion.

All religion brings more harm than good (both in game and irl), the entire civil war started becaus of the bloody Talos issue

None. Elder Scrolls gods appear to be little more than elaborate spirits so they have no influence whatsoever in life. I would certainly abandon my Atheism if I had clear proof of gods' existence but that doesn't mean I would worship them. The divines are irrelevant and the daedra tend to screw up your afterlife. I would just stop worrying and enjoy my life.

Kynareth! Kynareth? You'd have me as a damned Cyrodiilic, concerned with keeping things all the same, trying to be an Elf when born a son of Shor. It's KYNE!

All the Nine Divines. In real life I'm very devout, so there you go.
