I was south of dawnstar exploring the wilderness, when I came upon an ice wraith. I thought to myself "fair enough, this shouldn't be too hard". I killed the ice wraith with relative ease, and had half health remaining, so I used fast heal and returned myself to full health.

Then, I re-equipped my greatsword and out of nowhere, another ice wraith comes out and kills me in one hit, then I was like "OMG WTF?!", not only because I hadn't saved in over 30 minutes, but because the ice wraith, in one hit, took away all of my health and killed me despite me being a nord who is 50% resistant to frost damage, wearing superior quality improved heavy wolf armour and being able to take out the other ice wraith without much hassle only to come to this one to be one-shotted.

This is why you wait 1 hour instead of using magic. You would've had the quicksave from waiting :3
