Just watched the Jam video

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 10:57 pm

I must same, some of it was sweet. But the dragon mounts were dumb. I find that the thing that is sweet about skyrim is that it's realistic but not... dragon mounts would make no sense... your Dragonborn, Dragons fear you...and with that hate you.

The house building peaked my attention right away, till the skeleton butler... I love my house in Markarth because i don't have a house carl. it rocks because again it's realistic... you kinda get it?

The mount... i guess would be cool, i don't use mounts my self, but it would be cool i guess.

The werewolf skill tree would be sweet.

the vampire thing is cool...

So i guess what i'm saying is that if they were to release this as "Jam DLC" it might buy it... hopefully i don't have to have a skeleton butler though...

what about you? if they released every thing shown as a DLC would you buy it?

I would pay $80 Australian for this, the same as I payed for Skyrim itself. It looks amazing, I would adore having tht content in my game!

lol @ skyrim being "real" it's a fantasy game, in a fantasy setting, almost none of this feels 'real' to me.

but Id pay if they expanded on and improved some of the stuff shown in the video, definately. Home building is a must for me though, without it, I doubt I'd pay for anything.

I said sorta, as in that it's fantasy obviously but we recognize it, there aren't swords that are like 3 times the size of us as in like Japanese mmo's and what not. it's realistic in the sense of fantasy, we recognize things such as dragons, and were wolves from our "western" fantasy ideas.

In Oblivion! I love Skyrim's spells, I see no need for being able to make over-powered spells of my own.

I suppose, but most/all of those are new features, not ones from old games. Perhaps an altered version of spellcrafting would fit in Skyrim, but I don't really see it happening.

I'm not sure how well the xbox would support the seasonal foliage or the much better water currents, hopefully it can but I'd doubt it. One thing I really like was the flail they showed swinging around, they definitely need to add that.

Morrowind had spears... the flail would be cool, and the to GnrlKhalid, see if they were to just give us old features... then what would be the point of DLC? you could just go buy older games.

I agree here.

I think using a Dragon as a mount is really silly. some craetures in real life can`t be mounted and I just feel a dragon would never let it happen, no matter what.

Maybe if you drugged it and magicked it to within an inch of its life... But it wouldn`t be much of a Dragon then.

I like the spears and most of the rest of it. Not sure about the giant crab, but if it stayed limited to the shore then it`s ok.

Why is there so much dragon riding hate? its the same thing as quick travel only way more interestng... if you dont want to fly dragons then dont... it makes no sense to ruin it for those who want it... you dont citicize the horses or thier forced third person camera as being unrealistic do you?... speaking of which realisim is ruining the elder scrolls, look at skyrim, bethesda admitted to making skyrims magic a more narrow and less accesable path than a warrior or theif, and the animals in skyrim blah!! im sick of killing a bear every 3 seconds... wtf happened to minotaurs and zombies and imps and fantasy lore in general?
the next elder scrolls or the next skyrim dlc better have some over the top fantasy lore action like unicorns (yes they are in oblivion if you didnt know) and waterwalking and gates to other realms... otherwise the elder scrolls will end up like *shiver* Fable

I'd pay for alot of what was shown in the vid, but some of it really should be free.

...or in the game in the first place.

True.

I wouldn`t pay. It should be in the game already.

Probably because it kind of goes against the Skyrim notion that you are Dragonborn, slayer of dragons and stealer of their souls. I enjoyed Dragon riding in Drakon: The Ancient Gates, but that game started with you and your Dragon having some kind of mythical bond between you (can't remember what exactly), but the Dragon was there to protect you and help you on your quest to save the world. Dragon riding was fun in that game. But I am not so sure I want to see it in Skyrim, where the Dragons were envisioned as weapons of mass destruction and riding them seems like it would take away their grandeur.

The thing is in most Lore, Dragons are far too proud to alow Humans to ride it, except in very special circumstances, like Turija mentioned.

Most Dragons would kill themselves before allowing themselves to be ridden. think about it, how many Humans would allow themselves to be ridden like a horse?

er... don`t answer that!

And in Drakon, what made it believable was that the Dragon was male, with an older, protective sounding voice and the PC was a younger female. So the idea that this ancient and powerful Dragon was your protector was fairly believable within the constructs of the game. Anytime you were adventuring outdoors on foot the Dragon was always nearby and would come and fry anything that attacked you.

Have the people saying a dragon would never let you ride it completed the main quest, if you have surely you can see which one could, you could summon it with a shout kind of like
Spoiler
how you shout to get Ohdaving (sorry for spelling) to come and fight with you, it would make sense if you could call him to ride as well.

You DO ride on him at some point, just not in real time (you just teleport to the location instead), or at least that's what I've heard. But you do ride Odahviing.

I've wanted a lycanthropy perk tree equivalent since Bloodmoon. Also, I've been trying to put a bug in the dev's ears since the official boards opened up for skyrim. Oh, and SPEARS!!!
