RP'ing a Jesus in Skyrim

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 8:06 pm

I was playing Skyrim and a thought came to me what would become of Jesus Christ if he was born in Skyrim instead of Earth. Would the Stormcloaks treat him better than the Romans, would his miracles still be amazing for people who been there, done that (magic).

How do we roleplay a Jesus in Skyrim? Male, young, long hair, only wears robes, doesn't use weapons, what else?

Transform fish (salmon) in a lot of fish (using a console command, of course). Resurect the dead (Thalmor).

Jesus turned water into wine and rose from the dead...
Hence in a world with giants and trolls, what's to say he wouldnt be capable of also shooting the occasional fireball or two from time to time? just saying...

Seeing as how Tamriel doesn't have an omnipotent, all-powerful, good creator, there can be no Son of God...

...a prophet who preaches a divine message is plausible, but that is not Jesus Christ.

I don't necessarily think anyone would take him or YAHWEH seriously considering all of the Daedra you can see and talk to and evidences of Aedra. I also think a lot of people would decline to follow him considering said Daedra that can be spoken to and seen at any given time.

In consideration to the RP'ing question, you'd have to take the actual historical Jesus into account. By that, I mean darker skin for Middle Eastern dissent, most likely short hair as long hair was considered an abomination, black hair, brown eyes, etc. Not this stereotypical white Jesus crap Western Civilization presupposed.

As a Christian, I do not think it is possible, nor would I want to roleplay Jesus in Skyrim. However, I would love to try to play a cleric character that is empowered by one of the God's, and constrained/punished by sin in the game. Robes, healing spells, etc are all just support items to help with the game play. In a spiritual sense, I think the character of Talos comes closest to aligning with Biblical prophecy. The entire argument revolves around whether God (or a God) can walk on earth and perform miracles among men. Just as Jesus was crucified, there is an entire war and many deaths revolving surrounding Talos. Personally, I find the religious overtones extremely enjoyable in both Oblivion and Skyrim.

LOL my guess is the Jesus we know would starve to death in Skyrim nobody would hire him, he'd refuse all the quests because there's not too much diplomacy going on and he'd be pinched by mudcrabs asap. Let alone he can't convert anyone because the NINE are way cooler.

Give me a melee one hand hammer with lightning strikes, a demanding god to answer to and a trickster brother and let be play Thor is what I say! Just kidding, though it does give me an idea for the CK - ROFL. :)

I was thinking about helping the poor but for that I need gold I'd probably have to take herbalism serious as a non-violent money maker but that wouldn't be 'lore' friendly.

Religion of Tamriel is acceptable and encouraged to be discussed on these boards.

Religion of the real world? No.
