Steam is of course available but many games have region restriction.
We just buy codes from some online shops and register them in STEAM. But we are afraid that future DLC could be not accessible. People who played Fallout 3 complained hard about that.

They definitely should do this. If it gets the game out to more people in a more secure way then why not?

Steam's available, you just can't buy Skyrim out of it. It's not a big deal really, we can still buy a hardcopy or just serial number to register on Steam, but it's kinda stupid not to include certain countries. It's all digital, what exactly is the reason for a region-block?

All patches are downloadable, so is the texture pack, so I wouldn't worry about other DLC.

Anyway, I fully support the idea, as I have the exact same problem here in Poland - no Skyrim from Steam either...

Unfortunately I dont know why. Skyrim is unavailable neither on Steam nor on Impulse. But Oblivion and Morrowind are available, so unability to buy Skyrim seems very weird

Yes that gives hope that these will be available

I could make a little joke here...but then again I could not. BTW Steam can be quite a bother so be careful what you wish for.

It can't be political, surely not that, that was left in the trash aeons ago.My bet is it's a different charging system to see if it works better,if they tried that in the states you would get a tidal wave of abuse til they gave in,watch out theres a idea being touted about that when online you must have a passport to access different servers from different parts of the world, this idea has been around for the last 20 years and has started to seep into mainline sites like youtube,i know it sounds like conspiracy crap but in nz they have ram-rodded laws that are the start of a infomation restriction system kicking up.

I know as some vid content is not accessable to us on the tube.

I've found people are amenable to this idea for some strange reason.

My guess is that it has more to do with Russia's copyright laws than anything else. There may be be DRM implementations that are not enforced (or even legal) in Russia.
