Is there any role-play value for Khajits?

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 9:10 pm

Well my Khajit is currently having an identity crisis in Skyrim right now. The only Khajits that are in any form of a pack are merely nomads that set up camp from city to city. It would be very boring to sit around with them all day long and just follow them to the next camp site. Thus far, the best role-playing ive gotten insofar as race goes is with the Orcs. All thanks to the Orc encampments, the perks and the lore found within them. I know you can find Khajits peppered around the world in various orginizations but it has nothing to do with being a Khajit.

Is there any Khajit hideouts i can get involved in? Sadly if there is, i'm affraid they would all be drug manufactures of moon sugar and skooma, but i suppose i could live with it. Also, can the smart people suggest some books to read in game that deal indepth with the culture of the Khajit. I have really perfected my Khajit with balancing out gameplay and having him work reasonably within the economy. Now i'm looking for that emotional attachment that i had with my Orc.

Thanks in advance :)

Sadly Skyrim is far away from the Khajit homeland of Elsweyr, so they're very rare - which is a shame.

I'm saving my Khajit playthru til last and I'm avoiding all things Khajit until then. I accidentaly bumped into Khajo for the first time the other day, which made me jump. I especially didn't want to meet him yet because he is going to be the bodyguard for my own Khajit who is modelled on my pet kitty Pippa. Here is Pippa

...and here is how she looks in Skyriim...

She is such a placid and nice cat, that I can't bring myself to put her in harms way. I'll be doing a pacifist playthru with her, killing neither men, mer, Khajit or Argonian. Infact the only things that will be killable are Draugr (dead anyway) and mythical creatures (only fictional)

I'd be interested to know if there's more depth to the Khajit myself.

The only real Khajiit that I found so far that wasn't temporary was the one in the Collage. :/

I feel the need to help him being a Khajiit myself but otherwise Skyrim seem pretty much kittyless. I was honestly surprise I was able to find both moon sugar and skooma for some reason as random loot/random stuff on tables. How entertaining it may be to role play as one...You will most likely get bored as hell and leave Skyrim like the rest of them. Morrowind have much more potential with those slave traders. Gotta love the Orc who think he is a Khajiit also, bud for life.

@.joe.: Wow, great job with that character. I may have to search UESP for Khajo and see what he is up to. I made a personal goal to see every Khajiit and Argonian on Skyrim and do everything I can for them.

i find it odd that you'd play a Khajit as a pacifist seeing how cats are natuaral designed for hunting and killing lol. Ah well, i guess your Khajit was house broken at an early age and thus must have been declawed :P cause every cat i know were made to kill. Heck, even the feline race is consider to be king of the animal kingdom. The only reasonable roleplay i can do as a pacifist would be someone from the college since they are more adpet in intellical endeavors than in physical. Well to each his own cheers :)

The worse thing about being a cat in Skyrim is you must jump and run as slow as a human. With the exception of cosmetics, and that blurry night vision, there isn't much difference between a Khajit and a Nord.

And as dragonborn, we're not even treated like a Khajit, which would have at least made it interesting.

There is a cocky khajit mage in the college of winterhold, he thinks he is an expert of destruction magic. may want to try learning from him perhaps?
other than that the only ones iv seen is the merchants outside of the towns ( mainly whiterun )

Started myself an Altmer Pure mage today level 10 focusing on heavy roleplay, guess i should learn to adapt to him also like you're doing with yours.

I know for one i'm going to be a stormcloak and hate my own race due to the Thalmor. i travelled from Morrowind after red mountain erupted seeking a new life in Skyrim, only to find a civil war going on and my fellow Altmer trying to control everything.

all i got so far xD

A loner Kahjiit lost in a harsh and hostile land trying to find his way? Don't really see why you have to hang out with other Kahjiit to RP one. In fact your character could love meeting other Kahjiit because he feels so alone in this strange land, something like that. Just be creative. Maybe he got lost up there, or set is a bard who is setting out to learn epic tales of the north land to sing to his kinsmen so he adventures around.

nah, besides being a merchant, training up speechcraft and role-playing to escort the other khajiit merchants on their travels there isn't much more.
after some escorts, you can end up in the thieves guild and eventually the dark brotherhood (pickpocketing poisons into victims).
