I think there should be a Replay mode.

I`ve always wanted a Replay mode for games like these.

The way it works is simple: The game auto records (or you can start recording) every 15 or so minutes of gametime into memory. Then you can replay those 15 minutes to watch yourself in your adventure while having a cuppa.

It would be great to zoom about and watch yourself enter a dungeon, creeping forward towards an unsuspecting monster, but knowing that you never saw the extra two Death lords nearby. Remembering the shock as your character is suddenly assailed by more enemies than he expected, fleeing but at the last minute, his Follower dives in and takes the pressure off the Player and the Player returns to fight to help slay them.

Or maybe watching a huge panoramic type view of Dragon versus player battle with guards involved and how you just managed to avoid being flattened by its tail.

Then you could save the Replay for future viewing or even story telling.

I have always wanted the same kind of thing. You could post/upload your videos online etc etc.

Indeed, and nothing stopping you from frapsing and uploading your adventures, I know I for one am sad enough to subscrube and watch them!

Sounds cool, but it almost never looks as epic to a 3rd party.

I need to get into fraps. I keep putting it off. How steep is the learning curve? I have all the editing software.

1) Great waste of Bethesda resources on something so petty
2) Great performance drops, especially on consoles
3) FRAPS
4) The use of this feature would be incredibly marginal and I dare say 99% of players would never use it.

5) would kill immersion
6) would turn TES into even more of an arcade game
7) yeah, no.

I've mentioned before that I would love a theatre mode, would be awesome to upload your best battles online, cod manages it fine for long games so I'm sure Bethesda could manage it if they wanted to.

Each of your three points are utterly terrible, how could it possibly kill immersion when it would run in the background changing nothing about how immersive your battle is, changes nothing about the gameplay mechanics in game so how the heck could it be turning it into an arcade game and your third point is even stupider than the first two.

It's so easy it's painful!

Painless, sorry...

Fraps is not an option for the described scenario as it doesn't allow you to freely move the camera. It is the closest we've got, though.
