Where is the in-game tutorial?

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 2:09 pm

Hi to all Skyrim players,

I have just started playing skyrim it is an amazing game I see, I have no history of playing the previous Elder scrolls games. I noticed that there is no detailed tutorial in the game to show you how to use your menu like magic/skills/alchemy or how to fight!!!....ect !!! There were some simple tips at the begining of the game when Helegen was attacked by the dragon, but then nothing at all ! So should I learn by myself or what? Am I missing something? Thanks alot

The stuff at the beginning of the game isn't just tips, it's actual directions for how to play. Additionally, the first time you do anything that requires explanation, a box will pop up explaining how that mechanic works.

Other then the first little tips on the game theres not much of a tutorial. When you do something new like makeing potions or smithingit will give you small instructions on how to do it. The game should come with a manual showing you how to do things. I hoped this helped.

The first time you talk to a blacksmith, he or she will give you a tutorial miniquest where you craft a weapon and a piece of armor (the smith will provide the materials you need) and then improve them at the grindstone/workbench.
Alchemists and court mages will also provide tutorials on how to use the alchemy labs and enchanters, respectively.

If you need a refresher on what control does what, go out to the main menu, hit the System tab and then open the Controls menu. This will show your current key bindings and mouse button assignments for actions in game, and allow you to customize them to suit your preferences.

Additionally, as with any purchase of any product, Read The Manual. :read:
RTM, baby. RTM.

For further help, see UESP: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Skyrim
Hope that helps

On the menu where the save, load, etc. options are, there's a help menu. See if that helps any.

Elder Scrolls games are overwhelming for newcomers. Just stick with it and things will come to you over time. If combat is giving you trouble, try lowering the difficulty.

Yeah, like how to get off the horse!

Well logic would dictate that you would get off the horse the same way you got on it.
