Can I ignore the "dragon armor" perk?

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 5:41 am

Hi! I hope you can help me with something!

I have all heavy armor smithing perks but the last one, dragon armor. I know it is weaker than Daedric, which is my current armor. I already have level 100 in smithing but I'd like to know if it is too bad not to take the last perk and just go on with Daedric. Dragon armor is cheaper, but I suppose we all have to save perks and not use them in an useless skill.

Also, how can I reach 567 armor cap? Can I do this without blacksmith potion?

I'm a lvl. 44 orc dual wield swords.

Thanks!!

You pick dragon armor for the aesthetics because daedric armor offers better protection.

Its ok to ignore the perk, you pick it if you feel it suits your character.
There is no downside to not taking the perk at all, if you will not use it do not take it.

IIRC there is very little difference in the armor quality and the dragonbone armor is much lighter, but you won't really loose out on much if you don't take the perk.

Any armor at steel plate or higher quality normally upgraded to legendary should be able to reach the AR cap, but this is dependant on you having all of the AR increasing perks. These include Juggernaut 5/5, Well Fittet and Matching Set. The highest quality equipment should require less perks, but I am insure about the details.

Actually even daedric isn't worth it because all armor in the game can pretty much reach the armor rating cap of 567 and then get the 80% damage reduction. so pretty much anything over 567 AR is overkill and therefore not really needed, besides the vanilla game is freaking easy! even on the so called master.

Honestly OP it's up to you, if you don't want it that's fine. but if you want to change out your armor after awhile for a new look then take it.

Also i should mention Dragon armor is slightly not as high on the AR because daedric is well...daedra armor but the real kicker is it weigh's alot less, so it evens out!

i personally only wear depending on what i roleplay as, or wear what i feel like wearing, i could care less about stats as i play the game to enjoy and immerse myself, not to become a min/max stat/damage/armor [censored]
if you want to focus on min/max and stats then go play an mmo.

I'd take the dragon armour perk just because IMO, it looks better than the daedric armour.
