So my unarmedarmored Khajiit theif...

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 4:18 pm

...is actually turning out to be a pretty viable character. However, there are a few issues...

My stealth skills are going fine. I leveled heavy armor enough to get some steel gauntlets and the Fists of Steel perk (steel gauntlets still show claws, yay). And other than group fights, I'm doing well not wearing any other armor other than boots. The only problem I've run into, is that I'm not having anywhere to put my perk points!

I have no mage skills (except enchanting, which I'm leveling slowly), or any other combat skills (except smithing, only to get to Arcane Smithing), so I only have a few skills that I can perk up: Sneak, Pick Pocket, Speech. I'm not enchanting any items I use other than for fortify unarmed gamage...otherwise, I'm only using items I find.

Everythings going fine now, but I fear I may get tired of this character soon...any suggestions to make the build more fun?

I just go to Riften, and I'm only level 10 (normally I'm level 15 before I leave Whiterun, hehe.)

Haha! I'm playing my Unarmed/Heavy Armor Khajiit too! I'm level 23 and I've picked up Restoration and Destruction just for a little mix of combat. You should also improve your gauntlets with Blacksmithing. I'm doing 57 damage with my claws right now and that's more than what I do dual wielding axes. I also have 1-handed, but I've mainly been using my claws.

I tried the same thing, but I used archery aswell, until I just said screw it, got me a sword and a dagger dual weild dark brotherhood build with him lol. The unarmed combat with them is fun, wish there were more moves and more kill moves for it though. Not sure how to make it more enjoyable though lol

Yea I do wish they had more takedowns. Sadly there are only two for each weapon. A neck-snapping move would be a great way to silently kill someone..If only they did game jam before Nov. 11th. :( I use Archery as well. I'm having trouble finding better gaunlets than steel. I wish some Ebony Mail would show up..Lydia and I are off to collect all of the Dragon Priest masks.

I think with Khajjit you should be able to RIP THEIR FREAKING HEARTS OUT *cough* Ok, so their claws probably arent THAT sharp, but you should be able to gouge some eyes/ rip their throats to pieces. A neck snap would making going unarmed really cool though, especiall for assasins lol

Smithing does not improve the effects of Fists of Steel...but I still feel like I"m doing a ton of damage with steel gauntlets + khajiit alone...not sure how much Fortify Unarmed will help until later.

I also have a mod that adds unarmed combat animations. The left/right power attacks are now a roundhouse / flying spin kick, double power attack is a roundhouse + revers kick + leg sweep. It also add's a kill move of the enemy flipping backwards (as if clotheslined), as well as backflip jump animation. It really fits with this character, haha!

Illusion is a good school to learn, Muffle will help this one sneak, until Mastery of the skill is near.

I've thought about Illusion, if not for anything other than to help me increase in levels. Muffle mgiht not be a bad idea, but I've already snuck up on a vampire (fledgling), while I was definitely in their cone of vision...granted, it was very "dark".

(( I strongly urge you to get the harder sneak mod, you will level quicker if you're a good stealth player, but this mod establishes LOS over any stealth bonus, it makes sneaking fun again. ))

Might have to check it out.

BTW, this one's name is M'rddin Emrys.

Bonus points if you get the reference!

Are you surviving okay unarmoured?.

I've been thinking of doing this on master, but I need to be like a tank with armour on, don't think I could survive without it.

Has anyone disenchanted gloves of pugilist and put it on four pieces (with enchant perks as well) then used it with Daedric gauntlets and fists of steel?, would love to know what damage you do with claws then.

Finally how do you check what damage your claws do?.

Only rings and gloves can take Fortify Unarmed enchantments, AFAIK.

I'm doing fine unarmored, but I have to really get the jump on groups, primarily the most powerful of the group.

@NK: Do you have the link to the mod to which you are referring? I searched "harder sneak" and only came up with a mod that changes the sneak effect....nothing about line of sight, etc.
