Wazzup with Briairhearts?

Up close Briarhearts DO seem to have a higher ratio for 'finishers' even with a decent amount of your character's energy still remaining...

On normal they are super easy against by sword and board character. Armor around 460 using a skyforge sword doing 72 dmg. I was hopeing for more a challenge, but not here.

One thing seems strange my character has a high magic resistance and I seem to take 0 damage from magic. I thought it was capped at 85% - but I can stand there and let a master mage pound on me.

As a sneak, my greatest issue with Briarhearts on expert is their incredibly high detection ability. They die easy enough to a knife in the back, but the Briarheart I fought at Hag's End wasn't having any of that, and he sliced through my assassin's light armor pretty handily with his spinning blades. If I let him land a single blow I found myself missing two-thirds of my health bar, and getting caught by a full spin attack is a death sentence.

At higher levels they become increasingly dangerous.
They are boss level enemies, and can use two weapons and that has them deal massive damage to you.
They are the Hagravens beast and they are to be feared.

I am playing a redguard at Lv 5, wearing nothing but redguard boots and hammerfell garb. Using only a scimitar, no magic, scrolls, potions etc. I can take two at a time. The hagravens are the ones to be feared.

At lower levels most definitely, its at the later levels the briar hearts become more dangerous.

Their weakness is pickpocketing.

My current character is not a thief and lacks the skill so I have to face them.

This, and they have very good sneak detection so you have to have pretty high sneak to pull it off.

Where are you finding two Briarhearts together? I've never seen that; they are the boss-level Forsworn so there is usually only one, at most, in a dungeon.

I would not know I have yet to make a Nightblade or assassin yet.

I found it was situational. If I ran into one out in the open, I sometimes had a few problems because they were quicker and more agile than me. If I could get them backed into a wall, I usually came out on top.

Also, I couldn't always differentiate a Briar Heart from other Forsworn and got caught by surprise once in awhile.

If you can pickpocket him you can 15x backstab him just as easy.

Too bad Briarhearts rely on ice spells, as those don't do much against Nords. I'd like to see them use more shock and fire spells.

I don't know what game people are playing if they're easy fights to them. I guess with the right enchants and buffs, maybe they would be. I only dabble with smithing. Anyhow, if I don't watch myself, they can take health down really quick with one power attack. It must be what it's like for most enemies when the player themselves is a dual wielder. You can take things down about as quick.

I don't play on master difficulty, but my Nord has 450+ health with max armor. He also has the quick reflexes perk and doesn't get hit by power attacks unless surrounded. If a Briarheart is preparing a power attack, I either bash them or move out of the way. Perhaps that's why they seem easy, as my Nord never gets hit with their power attack?
