I think i burnt myself out playing Skyrim...

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 3:09 am

In the first month of Skyrims release i played 192 hours of Skyrim. Its been like 2 months since and i haven't played it once. I'm not even half way through the main story because i played alot of the sidequests.
I just tried to pick it back up (i was in a dungeon) and as soon as i started.. i just felt so bored and turned it off.

I mean, i feel like i want to play the mainstory but its just so.. meh.

The hell guys :( What do i do.

i feel the exact same way. i played it on xbox for ~160 hours and now it feels like a chore to play. I just picked it up for pc and started modding the game. my advice is to use mods if you feel the vanilla game is becoming a little bit stale.

Mods...

I had like 20 mods but it was discouraging me to play even more. Felt so chaotic, i deleted all of them except for the high quality mod.

Yea mods. Ive been playing skyrim on the ps3 since 11-11-11 and Im feeling it too. but recently I got my pc version of skyrim back from a friend (her computer couldn handle the awesomeness :bunny: ) so Ive picked it up and I can tell you with mods and other stuff it feels like Im playing it for 10th time (instead of the 100th)

Play something else and then come back. Burnout won't just go away. It takes time. Plus, it's not like there's any rush. The next installment isn't due out for probably 5 years.

How can you grow tired of this game? Didn't think that was possible  Maybe you should leave it on hold for another month and try to come back to it then?

Excellent title, I laughed.
Me too - burned! Completely. I just sit in the little room in the Whiterun house.
But it took two complete playthroughs (~800 hours).

Eh, there aren't many mods yet that truly breath new life into the game. Those will take a bit more time.

I love Mount and Blade, I always go back to it after playing some of the bigger releases. As for Skyrim, just take a break, use mods like others have said. You're not being forced at gunpoint to play this game.

I like how the OP posts as though there is any other answer than "maybe play other games for a while."

Could you not, like, worth that out for yourself?

I've shelved it too. It was only ~1.5 weeks ago, but even for the month prior I was really only seeking out the content I didn't hit, having free-formed most of the way through. Never finished the MQ and Civil War as I bugged them it seems.

Currently plan to play other games until summer and hope a Spellmaking or Oblivion Style magic system mod hits the streets. I cannot play Skyrim with the current magic system.

...I do have Andoran to look forward to though.

you're burnt out because you averaged 6 hours a night the 1st month which is insane imo...does the skyrim theme haunt your dreams? :P

Foraging for Alchemy, mining for ore, making potions, enchanting and smithing. These are the things I do when I can't be bothered going on a quest. And I can spend many a happy hour doing it.

After 350 hours, I've had that same feeling. True Roleplaying of a character is probably the only reason why I'll pick up Skyrim again.
