why the hate?

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 7:33 am

why do people hate vampires and werewolves? most arguements i read on the subject is "i dont want my character to be evil". this is the TES universe, there are plenty of good vamps and weres throught out its history (count skingrad anyone?) just being cursed does not make one evil

anyone can have their opinions, some dislike the vampires because they are hard to use and werewolvws because you are forced to be one if you join the companions, others dislike werewolves because they become kinda weak on master level and others dilike them because they think they are evil.
I personally like both.

I'd guess some people just don't want to be a werewolf or vampire.

Just a personal preference.

If you're talking about in-game. Neither type has been particularly kind in the past, both are associated with daedra that aren't exactly kind either.

Do not take all the posts too serious. I have mentioned that I like Argonian and others said "Ugly beasts".
It is okay, these are only opinions. So do not care to much. Vampires and Werewolfes are pretty popular in TES Games. Look at the several Mods in Oblivion and projects in Skyrim. So enjoy beeing a wolf or a Vampire as you wish.

This is a gaming forum, did you really expect anything to be praised?

Foolishness.

I'm interested in knowing how the quests for those groups go since I've never done them. Are the vampires and werewolves able to be noble and do good? By that I mean, do they deal justice to the truly evil or is it a mixture of them being evil and doing good both...or only evil? And the Dark Brotherhood? Are they ever noble? Do they deal out justice to the truly deserving evil characters we run into or is it both? I've never done these questlines because I like doing the noble character-type. Thanks! :tes:

Vampire - Has a ton of disadvantages. Advantages aren't that great. Stage system seems awkward and backwards. Is not really fleshed out that well.
Werewolf - Doesn't really have any disadvantages. Advantages of being in the form itself aren't that great. Is not really fleshed out that well.

I myself don't hate vampires, in fact, I love vampires, but I don't really like how they turned out in this game. Wolfies are okay.
I guess that everyone hates or likes it for their own reason. Everyone's completely entitled to their opinion.

Definitely my biggest problem with vampires in Skyrim. I just can't catch the drift of it.

Werewolf 100% disease resistance is nice. No need to bother with those pesky cure potions or pray to get bleshing from the gods. Rest bonus ? I don't sleep...
No need to get a horse sinse you can turn to wolf and sprint as fast if not faster than your horse. No need to bother with pesky local wildlife, just roar and the problem runs away from you....unless the ''local wildlife'' is a dragon -.-''

Most vampires I meet try to kill me. Should I not kill them, but instead call them an ambulance?

I hate werewolves because of forced third person and because transforming is a voluntary power instead of an involuntary curse.

I hate vampires because I love the sun. That being said, I can see myself enjoying the process of becoming a vampire and finding the cure, like in Oblivion. That was fun -- because it actually had meaning and changed gameplay possibilities, unlike most other quests.

Vampires and werewolfs have never really interested me. When I have vapirism, it just feels like a disease rather than anything cool, I'd rather not have it.

I got some very cool Ebony armor for making a sacrafice out of the mouth, "What could you possibly teach me ?" I taught her that she could be traded for something very useful, heavy armor designed for sneak, and emits poison !! Much more useful than her !! I personally like these games because they promote the darker sides. And apparently I am not alone. They premote, canbalisim, vamperisim, werewwolfs, sacrafice, murder, drug use, alcoholisim and Demon, or Dadric worship. And they rock the gaming world with thier sales, 7 million coopies in the first 2 days !!!! Because they appeal to the basic animale nature of the human species. I mean you are here. Right ??

I don't hate the Vampires and Werewolves, I hate how meaningless both groups are in terms of playability. At least Vampires were playable in Oblivion, in Skyrim it's more of a drawback and not the minor kind either.

I do not hate either, but yes they are generally associated with some form of chaos and evil or should I say dark, like the Daedra.

The vampires attributes does seem a little backwords in this game and that seems to make them more of a hassle, they should have their dark gifts given in the opposite of how this game wants to give them.

Cannot comment on the werewolves have not done the Companions yet.

I personally like the concept of both, but I have some issues with them.

To me the vampire simply feels weak which is my biggest problem with it. I just wish it had some more versitile abilities, like increased melee damage, a little boost to damage resistance or something to make them more versitile instead of being only fitted for sneaks and illusioninst(not really but you get my point).

Ad for the werewolf the chosen transformation doesn't really bother me and they added lore behind it so it makes sense, but I really dislike how you become one and that there are no wild ones. Also they feel a bbit weak at higher levels, but I make due.

Vampire by disease you can get from fighting vampires.

Werewolf:
Spoiler
by joining the Companions and doing about 4 missions for them. Becoming one will cure all other diseases making them mutually exclusive.

i hate vampires because they are a dumbed-down version (and i dont use that much) of oblivion's vampries (at least in oblivion you burned when you were out past level 2 in the day) which dont even belong in skyrim besides a bit of filler lore that bethesda made to appese people (which failed with me) which is much mroe insulting when you see vampires named volknhier evne though they are the exact same as The Order

i hate werewolves because they go against lore (a forced transformation issupposed to take place on full moons, so many remained stable as to make a "pack" of sorts, lack of wild ones, ect)

but those are the implacations i hate, i love them in concept though. if they were lore-friendly i would have no qualms about them what-so-ever
