Suicidal horses

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 2:38 am

I am really enjoying skyrim, still on my first playthrough as a Nord.
One thing really bugs me though,
Why create horses (war horses admittedly) that attack dragons?
Faced with a dragon or other large predator such as bear or big cat the horse should run away.
I would like this daft equine behaviour trait corrected in a patch if possible.
Does anyone else find this irritating or do you enjoy the horse v dragon spectacle?

Watching my lovely horse get taken away (by a dragon) to gods-know-where wasn't a pleasant sight at all.

riding my horse to a distance that i thought was far enough away from a battle and then seeing her run ahead of me and into the water to take on some crazy stendarr's, miser mages and a fire atronach was beyond belief!

I was trying to get a dragon that was flying around to come down and play. Well, he would not cooperate, so I ran off towards a Fort. The dragon noticed the Fort and landed in the courtyard to have a BBQ. Well, as I ran into the fort, I was run down by 2 or 3 horses running away from the fort.

I thought they were quite smart for doing that.

I went in a Dwemer ruin and I came out my horse had his entire front half of his body shoved threw the concrete by the entrance of the Dwemer ruin and he was having spasms shoved in the ground it was surreal to be sure.

I really wish there was a safe place to leave the horse. I am so tired of having to redo a battle because the horse has attacked an enemy. They run up, block your way and are just a pain. Same for the poor dog. I spend more time trying to keep them safe than I do slaying the bad guys.
