Character Build - Conjurer Assassin

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 5:06 am

Has anyone ever tried this as a build? I really enjoy stealthy characters and though it might be interesting to exclusively use conjured bows and daggers. Also if you get discovered you would have the ability to conjure an atranoch for a distraction. I would assume you could also throw in some illusion as well.

Any thoughts?

Well, for one thing, there is no conjured dagger so you can't get the x15 perk with a summoned weapon. Also, summoning a weapon makes a lot of noise so it may hurt your stealth. On the other hand, a bound bow is very powerful since you can keep at a reasonable distance.

My time spent down Cidhna mine relied heavily on my use of conjuration and sneak, they're a great combo.

There is a perc in the Illusion tree called "quiet casting" but I can't see it in the Conjuration tree.

IIRC that perk affects all spells, so it could work in such a build...

You're quite right sir, I should've realised this being an Illusion Master

http://images.uesp.net/2/22/SR-perktree-Illusion.jpg Quiet Casting: All spells you cast from any school of magic are silent to others (all shouts are also silent). Level 50 Illusion, required perc - Kindred Mage.

To level Illusion, take muffle, this will help your sneak greatly. Faveourite and bind it to a hotkey and use it as much as possible, even when walking in towns, before long your skill should be high enough. It's down to you where you sacrifice other perc picks though if this wasn't in your intended build.

Yeah, the main drawback of Illusion seems to be that you need to invest a lot of perks to get good use of it. Probably 8 perks to get silent casting and reasonable effects on animals and humans; 12 perks to use it on undead. On the other hand, you could just go for muffle and invisibility for only 4 perks. Where to stop?
