Building Custom Houses in Skyrim and Features?

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 4:56 am

I hope they implement this feature and let users put it anywhere in the Skyrim World we would like. I would put my house up in the mountains...I also hope it will come with a fast travel feature. Some things I would like to seen done with this.

Choose Location

Fast Travel

Ability to add all Black Smithing Equipment

Abilty to add all Alchemy and Enchanting Equipment

Ability to place furniture in house

Ability to customize structure of house..1 or 2 story

Ability to add some kind of wall around the house if wanted.

I can see this being a huge feature for DLC.

I would love this. In order to add all of those features mentioned above they should all cost a good amount of coin.

Id like to be able to set uo your own turf, like a thieves den or something similar where you recruit members, trainers, merchants etc and expand it by constructing new areas and so forth.

Sort of like Crossroad Keep from Neverwinter Nights 2 if anyone remembers that.

It looked awesome in the jam video. I'm not sure how it would impact on Console performance but it would be awesome.

Yep, It is a must that it cost a lot of in game coin...It will feel more rewarding for a hard days work of plundering. I also like the idea of adoption for me and my sweet Lydia.

Think about it a second, how many bugs would being able to build a house anywhere in the world cause?

Yes, more than you can count. They wont do it, building a house in several different locations across the world on the other hand could be a possible DLC though but you shouldn't hold your breath for building it anywhere.

I would not mind this at all if they gave around 10 different locations. I would also like to choose the style and at least have some say in the layout; and i definitely would love to see blacksmith equipment as an option. (the whole two story / one story thing also). I am growing tired of my heroic argonian living in a run down shack in the woods b/c he doesnt wish to dwell amongst the large cities :).

I could go with ten or more different places. I also do not like living in the cities, I think they should have them from the top of the mountains, Swamps, the Artic and woods

It probably would be simpler to work upgrade possibilities into existant locations like the lighthouse nearest Dawnstar, or the Storehouse at Mzulft. Both are excellent with dramatic vistas the moment you step foot outside.

Should have to pay guards salaries for security if built a certain distance outside of cities. We all know what happens to people who live out in the wilderness.

OMG I just had that idea yesterday. I came across a beautiful little, secluded, clearing near Ivarstead. I thought, this would be a perfect place to build a cabin! I wish I could have gone to the Temba Wide-Arms in Ivarstead and ordered a shipment of lumber, to start building my cabin! :D

Actually I love building stuff, that's why I got Morrowind for my desktop. I would pay alot for this as a singular DLC if I had too, would be awesome...

Yeah, putting it anywhere would be damn near impossible, but 10 locations would be nice. I have been planning on doing a mod like this but I need to learn a bit more about the CK and how to get things from 3ds Max into the CK.

In fallout 3 you could build pretty much anywhere with the CK. If you are breaking no "rules" there I don't see why you couldn't make it possible to do in-game.

I have nice spot picked northwest of Riften.

I would like a choice of styles like from each hold or that you have to build in the style of each hold.

I get what you mean but it's a lot different with the CK. In order for the house to look good you have to flatten/adjust the land, move objects, like trees, rotate and actually place the house in a way that makes sense, things that you just can't control easily in game. It would be technically possible, as they could just use some rather generic code but to put it just anywhere would increase the amount of possible bugs by the hundreds.

I have always loved and will continue to love this idea. I want to choose my own furniture and have it where I want because I don't like the layouts of the current Skyrim houses. As someone said earlier, it should cost a fair bit of money... I need something to spend my gold on anyway...

I liked the idea from the video about creating houses......Just wish I could pick another butler other than a dead skeleton. Also the butler should be able to alter our looks
