So i made a rogue sort of character today with dual weilding daggers, but am confused with how it works. Is it not just as fast to attack with one of your hands than alternating? and if this is so woudln't i just use the stronger weapon? This is of course not talking about power attacks or the pressing button at same time but the average attacks.
Well dual-wielding simply works by pressing the buttons at the same time. ^^

You need to invest in the dual wielding perks that increase attack speed and improve your power attacks before you will get any benefit from dual wield.
Once you get perked up pretty much every kill will be a one strike sneak kill so I wouldn't worry about a prolonged fight. If your not a sneak you should be using swords or axes and not daggers.
If you're a rogue and you invest in the assassination perk that gives daggers x15 sneak damage then you're best off using a sword/axe/mace in your main hand and a dagger in the off hand to sneak attack with. You will figure this out though, check your perks screen.
If you take particular perks, dual wielding increases the damage you do, plus, it's a power attack, so you are getting max damage plus the perk bonuses.
