Interesting build thusfar (wolf kin)

So I made a ranger build going with a "Wolf kin" theme. That is to say, I have a mod that makes Meeko a wolf instead of a dog, a slightly improved Familiar spell, and chose to become a werewolf.

So not only do I have a constant companion in Meeko, if I need help in a battle I can summon my giant wolf familiar for help.

I use courage on Meeko for a bit of a combat boost (though I'm not sure what stats are affected, other than health and not fleeing). I'm thinking of adding calm so that I can keep wild wolves from attacking me, other than when in werewolf form.

So far it's been a versitile, fun build, without going into other skill details.

Question, though, pressing my shout button makes me howl when in werewolf form. Meeko has the fear effect on him, though he doesn't run. How effective is this howl? Also, any other wolf-themed items for which I should be on the lookout? (light armor preferred)

Werewolves are pretty weak after level 10, without a decent mod you're not gonna be using your wolf form for much longer. Saviours Hide is light armour, looks the bomb on females. Unsure as to how adversely your howl affects Meeko, but if he doesn't run I shouldn't imagine using it as a problem.

You know, I don't think there's any real wolf-themed light armor stuff. Wolf Armor from the Skyforge is heavy.

Go to Falkreath, though, and ask around... you'll get something from a quest there that is light and furry, but I just *hate* the look of it. The quest should be good for your character, though.

The fear howl seems like it would be the most effective of the options you get.

I'm curious to hear more about your build - skills, and how it's all going. I've wanted to make a dedicated werewolf character for awhile (not just one who becomes one by default), but since the Game Jam video came out I've been telling myself to wait for a DLC so it will (hopefully) be easier.

The stormcloak officer armor without the bear helmet looks wolf-ish. You can get pretty early by going to Fore###somthing ruins south east of Riften. The guy outside who wants your help can be killed and his stuff taken. The gauntlets have metal claws.... kinda wolf-ish...

It's not so much a "werewolf based" character, rather than wolf kin in general. Some of my main skills are One Handed, Sneak, Conjuration ( due to Congure Familiar); Illusion (courage for Meeko), light armor, and Archery.

Since Meeko levels with you to 25, he should at least be fun to have around for a while. I may consider taking Aela with me later on.

I'm level 19, and only using gear that I find (no enchanting or smithing), and I just cleared Haemar's Shame (full of vampires). Beast Form actually saved my life there.
