Skeevers and Chickens Collision Boxes

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 12:24 am

Just wanted to point out that when skeevers die, their collision boxes go down to far, leaving them floating above the ground slightly more than most other creatures.

Also, chicken's collision boxes need to go down further, as when they are on flat ground (alive) their chicken feet go through the ground. You can only see them if they are on unlevel ground.

I know these are both quick fixes and could be applied to a patch to make the game better. I also know it's not a big deal like floating grass, but it would be nice to see little things like this fixed, as unlikely as we all know that is.

Thank you.

Have you ever tried to snipe a wolf with a bow from 300+ ft range? Yeah, its barely possible and usually cost you about 50 arrows. Yet, I can snipe a chicken or goat or a Skeever from that range in one shot.

Collision boxes are borked in this game. I once shot an arrow directly through a bandits head and it wasn't detected, that was from about 10 feet away. The arrow just went straight through as if his head were invisible.

I'm getting better with aiming all the time, but it as well as the collision boxes are definitely as you put it, borked. Just remember the arrow actually shoots ABOVE the top point of the crosshair, only going below it or in the middle of the crosshair when the target is very far away. Aim slightly above what you want to hit most the time and you will land more shots. Now if only the fps drops didn't make it impossible to aim sometimes. :(
