Unarmed + Fists of Steel

getting rid of unarmored/h2h is ridiculous.

anyone who uses the rationale that an unarmored/h2h character should not be able to defeat nor be as strong as an armored/weapon character is just plain wrong and their logic is invalid.

anyone who says that i should just do such and such to get rid of the perceived problem, thereby, ignoring the obvious stupidity of eliminating unarmored/h2h, has an invalid argument.

my character doesn't use magic. my monk wants to be a pacifist. less options/ less choices.

I play with a khajiit stage 4 vamp and use the claws and the pugulist gloves I found in riften to do the final blows my atronach or mayhem left behind. The cut aways are awesome I think. ....and for some reason my khajiit can wear 2 rings? Enchanted Ring and Ring of Health.

Got the Combat Fist mod to work. Seems pretty cool. Now I just need a headband for my new character build.

I am sickened by the fact that they basically scrapped hand to hand. Why would remove a legitimate skill. In OB it was one of my favorite parts of the game and loved the improvements they made to it. But for some reason they decided to omit H2H as a skill and limit its effectiveness (i.e. no skill progression, special power attacks).

Yet they gave us two awesome kill moves, for some reason. That's why I love mods.

I've got a the mod mentioned in this thread, which essentially ties unarmed combat into the one-handed skill.
I've got another one that adds different unarmed animations to the game (acrobatic kicks, roundhouses, combo power attacks) as well as a backflip jump animation
There is a cool mod that adds some nifty guantlets and martial arts tunics of various colors to the game.

Now I just need that damned red headband/bandana, then I can make a Ryu (from Street Fighter) character! Complete with Haduken and everything!

Unless you are this guy:

Warning: NSFW language.

Ha ha I know who that was. His videos are hilarious but totally nsfw. His unarmed vids are great.

Base armor... confirmed. But it's not "complete trash". It promotes a playstyle that many would enjoy. You'll get plenty of play out of an unarmed character. He'll kill stuff, and the kill shot cutaways are fantastic. Punching out a dragon is just too much fun for someone to give up on simply because your overall damage will be lower than someone swinging a sword.
This.
