Having a problem in "Hired Muscle"

Ok so i have to do, "Hired Muscle", a radiant quest for the companions.

I have to brawl with some woman, who is in a ship near Solitude. The problem is that it is in a no trespassing area, so all i get from her is the "You're not supposed to be in here".

The wiki says this,

Some targets reside in locations that require you to trespass. In these cases, your target's dialogue will constantly loop "You're not supposed to be in here" and not allow you to initiate the brawl, rendering the quest impossible to complete correctly. One solution to this problem is to assault the target and then run to a non-trespassing location out in public, where the target (and perhaps others) will follow you. If your character is an http://uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Imperial, you may then calm the target (and, if applicable, the group of people now assaulting you) by using the http://uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Voice_of_the_Emperor power. If your character is not an Imperial, you may be successful in stopping the hostility by sheathing your weapon (yielding). Alternatively, you may approach a guard and go to jail for the assault, but hurry back to the fight location before the target has returned to the trespassing zone.
  • You may clear the quest from your active questlist by killing the target and thus failing the quest. After killing the target, return to Farkas and he will give you a lesser amount of gold for your payment before allowing you to take another job.

I tried to punch her and run out to the deck of the ship, which is a non-trespassing area, however i am attacked by her and the crew. Of course i did go to jail, but when i went back she was back in the ship. How do i complete this quest without killing her? It wouldn't also be in-character for my character to kill her anyways.

Do i need to complete this quest to move onto the other Companion quests?

Yes, you will have to complete Hired Muscle to advance. I suggest you reload a save prior to accepting this quest, then try as many times as you need to to get Farkas or whoever to give you a different Hired Muscle quest. There are many different one.... persistence may get you one more easy to complete.
