Yeah I kinda find it funny how much people freak out over animals having coins, or gems on them and then have to ask "Where is da pockitz?!" Hard to believe an animal could of, oh I dunno, ate them? I had a dog who liked to eat a lot of stuff he shouldn't have. It's also not to hard to believe that while killing a person / eating a person they might of accidentally consumed it? Especially a dragon which I would assume eats things in such a way that a shark would. Also people must remember that all animals have a stomach, easy for carrying things they eat.

There are always treasure chests near Shout walls. I know that it is not what you really expect to be but they are there :]

On Mirmulnir you find Whiterun Guard armor, giving you the assumption that he ate a guard. Finding coins on animals and dragons is not that surprising, since they can eat people and beast races...
