Due to some weird bug, all of the members of the companions in my game got set to being non-essential, so I slaughtered them all for the lulz just to see if I could do it. I even decapitated Aela despite not married to her (being married to her makes her non-essential apparently).

Anyone else had this happen to them?

I also found it weird that there was no bounty on me after I killed all of them, even the ones standing outside at the back of Jorrvaskr. They also didn't fight back, even when I slaughtered one of their friends in front of their very own eyes. The cleaner lady in the hall said to me "I never knew you were so cold blooded" when I killed Vilkas, and that was about it, she didn't do anything after, but that didn't stop me from cutting off her head as well

And also, you should know that this happened....

It isn't a bug. Once you complete the Companions Questline, they become non-essential.

I, personally, don't count it as a bug.

Even the no bounty thing? Despite the fact that I murdered them in cold blood in broad daylight in front of lots of people?

That, Idk. You should've gotten a bounty unless no one was truly caring or paying attention or bothered to report you.
