How good is the "regeneration" perk under restoratio

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 9:19 am

almost done completing a pretty awesome build.Just wondering if the restoration tree is even worth going into, yet alone the regeneration perk. Will 50% more healing even matter at higher levels?

Also im wondering how well is the necromage perk?

I find that regeneration is very useful it doubles your healing power which is always a plus.

Necromage is great in that all spells are more effective against all undead, very useful what with all the tombs around.

The regeneration perk also increases your stamina restoration if you have the respite perk. Very useful if you are using a lot of stamina.

Necromage is a must if you plan on living as a vampire.

Yup. It affects the player since vampires are considered undead. So all of your spells and enchantments will be stronger.
And regeneration is pretty handy, healing more is always good.

not really planning on being a vampire though.I would just use necromage for the increase in destruction magic. Not sure how much more effective the spells are, though i would say around 25% though.

Regeneration, combined with Sailor's Repose, and the Avoid Death perk allows you to heal 400 hp a day if you get close to dying. It's incredibly useful. I also recommend the one that increases your stamina when you heal.

There was a thread here on the forum about all the benefits necromage confers on vampires. The perk affects all spells cast on undead, and the game tags you as undead if you become a vampire, so all spells you cast on yourself are boosted by necromage if you are a vamp. My understanding is that it applies to enchantments as well. There is a note about it on the UESP Skyrim Restoration page. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Restoration

Thanks a lot !

@OP: you absolutely need to have regeneration, since it required for necromage, which is really godly.

This is also true of light armor's stamina regen perk. It will overcome the vampire stunted stamina as well, just FYI. as a vamp you'll want light to snag this powerful freebie.

I always use Regeneration Perk. The other one, I never used but I ain't a Vampire so I don't care much for it.

Regeneration Perk doesn't Double your healing power though. It is x1.5 (%50 more is .5 + the normal 1)

Also, there is an ability that you can unlock to make healing spells like 15% better so there is %65 (.65)

So in total, your healing spells can be x1.65 of its normal amount. Example: Healing is 8 points normal. 8x1.65 = 13.20 which rounds up to 14 or down to 13. (Idk which way the game actually rounds to, I need check real quick)

Someone made a thread about magicka consumption a while back. For example: If a spell says it costs 15 magicka, it actually uses 15.9 magicka, same for healing and everything else. Weird right? :turtle:

Healing starts at 10 per second, goes to 15 with regeneration perk, 16 with sailor's repose. I think sailor's repose works off the base 10. Cutting magicka spent by 50% and healing an extra 50% is an excellent use of 2 perks. 100 magicka can always fully heal any level of warrior. Mine costs 5 per sec to heal 16 per sec. 20 secs of healing is 320 health, about the amount of health my level 37 warrior has.

Ah. So it rounds do but still uses the .##

That sounds right cause I swear I some times heal a point more than others.

Thx for correction. And Kinda. Sailor's repose is automaticly combined with the regeneration perk to make the x.5 to like x.65 (It is %15, right?) That means the spell is healing 16.5 per second.

It helps for casters who don't concentrate on health as much as magic.

My 53ish mage has around 460 magic and ~200 health. With dual resto casting with the extra healing perk, it can heal me up pretty quickly.

And consider, that simple heal isn't the ONLY heal you have. You have "Fast Healing", which gives you a bigger chunk.
