Really really think that Skyrim should have Eliminate Thieve

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 1:20 am

If gamesas can do it to the DB guild, why cant they do it to the thieves guild. This is the one LAST thing i want in skyrim and there aint mods that do that. Did gamesas even think about making us destroying them thieves too? Being approached with a thief armed with dual elven daggers saying that either you give your gold and die, or just die, is a really bad idea.

I agree that a "take down the Thieves Guild" option would've been nice.

However I think that even if it existed and you completed it successfully, you would still find thieves on the road who walk up and demand everything or else. Those are random encounters and not really tied to the TG questline... not every thief in Skyrim works under the auspices of the Guild, especially since the Guild has lost most of its prestige and influence (unless you join them and change that).

Even "destroying" the Dark Brotherhood doesn't let you wipe them all out as there is still a remnant that survives. Murder for hire and robbery, like other crime, will always be around even if there's no official Guild behind it.

I would like the opportunity to force denizens of the Ratway to learn why Alteration is a valuable school of Magic, like my Morrowind character did with The Black Dart Gang :hehe:

My first contact with the TG was a demand that I participate in the framing of some Innkeeper for theft, in order for someone to take over his business, apparently. It's a missed opportunity that there doesn't seem to be an alternative where you turn the thing around so the bad guy is the one caught with the ring.

The guild(whats left of it) has the protection of a corrupt government in Riften. The Dark Brotherhood has the protection of no one. The bad guy can't be caught with the ring because he's the one pulling the strings. He'd simply say "He/She stole the ring and planted it on me." *which would be true* and Maven would make sure you get locked up. The guild is just about dead anyway before the DB shows up, murdering them would just make a void for a more ruthless organization to move in.

The guild frowns on murder those thieves aren't members oof the guild

Oh i didnt know. I thought all thieves or most thieves in skyrim are part of the thieves guild.
But strangely if you are a thief guild member and was approached by a random thief outdoors, he says he recognises you. Does that mean that all thieves outdoors are from the thieves guild??????
If so, why are they violating the rules? Something gamesas didnt make it clear, unlike in oblivion.

It conflicts a bit with the main story. Esbern's survival depends on the Thieves' Guild being around. You take out the Guild, Vekel the Man has to close the Ragged Flagon. Without Vekel, nobody will deliver food to those hiding in the Ratway, meaning Esbern will die.

Wrong, since if you are a TG member, the thief will say he recognizes you from the guild.

Probably because they know that if anyone finds you dead on the side of the road with all your valuables missing they'll chalk it up to any bandits that may be in the area instead of the Guild. Also, they're probably trying to intimidate you into complying with their attempted mugging attempts but if you walk away they know they need to live up to their threats.

My question is: Why are they always Dunmer?

Recognizing you as a member of a restored and powerful organization is not the same as being a member. Try doing killing the target or anyone living intge target house instead of just robbing them and see how they respond. Molgrom Twice-Killed was thrown in jail by the guild for prefering to kill his marks.

Probably you can exterminate/destroy the Db because they're crazy murderers..but,really.. give the same treatment at a bunch of unorganized petty thieves ? you can just ignore them and they would stay forever in the sewers.

Perhaps give the option to caught/redeem them would have been a good choice.Or,even better to "destroy" Maven Black Briar that is the real cancer of Riften.

I actually tried to do that the first time. I stole the ring and tried planting it in Brynjolfs pocket, I was disappointed when nothing happened. I then tried killing him instead, and then discovered he could not die. I was not happy as I was trying to play as the kind of character who despised the Thieves Guild and wanted to help Riften get rid of them.

It would be interesting and I agree if you can do it for the DB, why not?

I thought it would be an optional quest when I heard the guy in Riften palace talking about it. Needless to say I was dissapointed.

It would have been a perfect favor quest for Mjoll as well, as she wants them gone, badly. It would certainly have been more interesting than her actual favor quest, too.

To add insult to injury (so to speak): not only can you not take out the TG, you can't take out Maven either, as she's also marked Essential. Since I'm on a PC I fixed that right quick, but those on consoles are stuck with the entirely unsatisfactory situation, which is decidedly unfair.

I would really enjoy helping Mjoll take out the thieves guild.

I don't mind the TG. What I really wished is forma way to set maven up & get her arrested on some false charge - that would be deliciously ironic

I would love to destroy the thieves guild. I want to kill them all, every single one of them and their allies.
Complete and utter annihalaiton, then burn the place to the the ground.

You should be able to destroy all factions and side with their opposites, if you want, it should be a option in all quests.

I think you could destroy the TG. But they removed it because they're idiots desperate to promote it and force it on players. Everything about rifton screams destroy the thieves guild quest.
