[REQ] Shovels

The idea would be to make it to where a shovel can be used to, well. Dig holes to but things in like loot And dead bodies in. The modder could make it to where three types of holes could be made.

1: would be the grave that can reveal a coffin that can be opend to but a dead body in. the dead body can ofcourse have things stored on it. The grave mound that would be expoxed to the views of the landscape would have any number of diffrent looks and would be the trigger to dig up the coffin. it can have crosses and stuff as head stones and what ever.

2: An smaller hole that would take less time to dig up would simply have a chest in it like any chest in the game. But you would get to choose what kind of mound you want like a rock mound or a simple dirt mound. The treasuer chests and graves would be marked on your map where you barried the stuff. now i don't expext it to be scripted to be able to barrie anywhere. but here nad there where ever the desighner wanted unless it whould be just as easy to make it to where the player could dig everywhere, but I dout it.

I'm sure anynumber of ways could be implamented to make this possible....

Something similar to the way mining works could be done, where a loose area of earth can be placed in the world that will react to the shovel use by becoming a hole. But just digging anywhere you want is not gonna happen, this would be more of a modders resource.

Started Skyrim in November.
Seen graves.
Found Shovel.
Thought it would be essential to use eventually (see Fallout New Vegas).
Held onto it.
Found out it was useless like calipers.
Realized Bethesda left many things like this and grain mills unused and open for modders instead of making them complete.

Oh well, Thanks Bethesda for the template to use. Better than not having them at all.

I agree in the sense that it isn't necessarily a bad thing that things were left out. It gives modders the inspiration to create with a variety of different possible outcomes.

For shovels, I agree that digging would best be achieved by making a mound activator that could be interactive the same way that ore veins are. Once the hole is created, perhaps you could purchase droppable containers somewhere then activate a mound that is placed beside the hole to cover it once again. This would allow for the player to dig a hole and cover it as many times are they pleased. Of course this couldn't be applied to every spot of terrain in the game, but I could see the possibility of implementing mounds throughout various landscapes. You ever bury loot to collect the first time the hole is opened. This would make the initial mound make more visual sense.
