Working for Blacksmiths

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 10:36 pm

The story
So you know when you are first learning how to use the smithery and the blacksmith says something like "i should hire you to help me at the forge" well what if that were to happen?

The Idea!
So what if you could get quest's from the blacksmiths? radiant quest's of course, they could be as simple as "I need you to make 6 iron warhammers" and you get like... 70 coins per hammer? then you could get a quest like "I need these to be shipped to ____, the blacksmith that works in ______" the jobs and what you make depend on your smithing level, what city you are at and of course which side you chose during the civil war quests.
And to add variaty to this we could also have to test out weapons or even upgrade weapons. (idea comes from http://www.gamesas.com/user/704812-xxice625xx/)

Closing comments!
What do you think? would it work? it would add some varying... non violent radiant quest's that could help with like, roleplayers? And it should not only be mods, but for consoles as well.

That's a great idea. Not only something to do but it would make some rationale for grinding smithing instead of making hundreds of iron daggers.

Making specified item(s) and delivering from A to B can be repetitive sometimes. Some variation might work. Like test out the weapons or something.

When the Blacksmith in Riverwood started giving me work I was hoping that was where it was headed but it was only a basic tutorial. Shame really.

Roleplay it yourself. Your "pay" is what you make selling it to them. You might not be the deliverer, just pretend the store owner is the middleman.

BTW you can get the tutorial in Whiterun if you don't do it in Riverwood.

Yes, I think it would be a great idea. I never actually thought of this and it could be a very good idea for roleplayers like me (Well, I only have one character to roleplay, lol)

Only problem with this, is it costs more to buy the materials then what you get selling them. So you'd eventually go broke.

I had this idea a week ago and was going to post a mod request... Well, great minds think alike.
