Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 1:07 am

My Bosmer Character came to Skyrim to hunt big game such as bears and sabre cats. Where is the best place to find these animals in abundance?

And please don't say the woods. Be a little more specific.

I don't know that anyone can be, since they're all over the freaking map. I literally can't walk from one city to another without passing a half-dozen bears or cats.

I enjoy hunting in Skyrim. It's well done. I actually no word of lie, just was hunting on SKyrim until my battery died moments ago. I was in Falkreath hold. Plenty of Elk, deer, fox, and wolf there. Bear are usually elswhere, like the Rift.. You'll find plenty of Big cats up in the toundra along with Mammoths there. As for anything else, gimme a shout.

Go north young Bosmer! Snow bears like to hang out on icy coastal shorelines from Dawnstar to Winterhold. You may regret finding them though. If you wander along the foothills to the west of Whiterun you will probably encounter sabrecats, usually when you least expect them. You might want to level up a few levels unless you enjoy seeing the reload screen.

TIP* Mix up some Salt, with Deathbell, to make Slow poisons. Excellent for stopping that agile game.

Don't forget the plains of Whiterun, Saber cats seem to be in abundance between whiterun-Solitude-Markarth.Lots of Trolls in Rifton as well.

At level 4, you will have to go up in the mountains to find Bears and Sabre Cats. There might be some at lower down at your level, but they will be rarer.

Also, there are a few dungeons that are Bear and Cat dens, those should have the critters all the time.

Lol thanks. I love hunting threads, it's actually a huge underated part of Skyrim. Kind of like Red Dead Redemption's hunting system. I get carried away with it lol.

I have always only played as Figgin my Dunmer Assassin/Thief. Then I made a character for each race and a backstory for each and decided to RP them all different. Now I chronicle all of their adventures in my forum and it has been amazing.

Nothing like hunting deer in the forest!!! I spend alot of my time hunting both in game and in life, the one I do hate tryen to get are the rabbits!!!! SO much easier in real life to catch a rabbit. If you want a challenge I suggest heading north to Winterhold and wander the cost line, lots of frost trolls, snow bears, snow sabers, white foxes etc....The creatures that hvae to brave the cold are the ones that are the most resilient and savage. But fun!!!!

I wouldnt use poisons cause you'd be tainting the raw meat you undoubtedly would eat as a bosmer.

I found plenty of regular Sabre Cats spread out around the plains west of Whiterun (well past the watchtower and imperial fort). Theres plenty of bears around the base area around the town near high hrothgar. Also, look for caves to pop up on your hud. Most of them are animal caves

I'd say the Eatmarch and the Rift has the highest concentration of sabre cats. The Reach is good for the bear-hunter.
