advice on melee character!

i was wondering what the most fun build for a melee char is 1handed with shield..2handed..or duel wield. i play on master with a couple increased difficulty mods. too make the game more fun and interesting was thinking of not using smithing and enchanting and only using the armour and weapons i find. what r ur opinions on the smithing/enchanting way and being too overpowered.

You'll definitely have more challenge, I can guarantee that. Smithing and enchanting, even without any exploits, make for easy killing even on Master setting. Whether eliminating all weapons crafting and upgrades will end up being too hard on Master, I don't know, as I haven't tried that yet. I'm sure it'll provide some hair-pulling moments, and possibly even some situations you'll just have to skip or bypass. Probably depends on what other skills you may go after, besides just the melee stuff. If you use 1H + shield, you will be a lot more survivable, and not have to use nearly as many health potions as a non-shield melee char will. No matter which style you decide to go with, I'd highly recommend working up your blocking along with it... just for those fights when not having a shield turns out to be nearly impossible to survive.

I am thinking of making a melee character for my next playthrough. Light Armour, One-handed and Block. I will be playing on Master and I don't plan on using Alchemy or Enchanting. I prefer to use equipment I find or am given from quests. I won't be sneaking or using any kinds of magic either. I might add Archery for fun and to help with flying dragons or distant enemies but I'd probably prefer to play only with a sword all the way. I was actually thinking of just using a One-handed sword with nothing in my left hand but I think I'd just be making it harder. I might add smithing later in the game just so I can experience Dragonscale armour, but then I can't decide if I should go the heavy route for Daedric weapons or stay true to my role-play and go the light armour path. This character is going to be a good hero too.

This is a build if I focus on Archery and not Smithing: http://bit.ly/A2CH1m
I was thinking of taking out Archery and going the Smithing route but I don't know if I'd go up the light or heavy side. I won't be using magical/enchanted armour either. I don't know what Block perks are good to get or any melee ones as I have not really tried them. I usually make my builds for role-play/fun instead of efficiency.

My advice - don't touch the main questline. :P

Dragons are tedious as hell playing as a pure melee character (no ranged weapons or magic - including shouts)
