Pickpocket FATALITY!

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 2:49 am

I don't usually pickpocket out in the wild, against bandits or whatever- their pockets are usually pretty empty, compared to what you can get in towns. But today I just happened to be behind a Forsworn Briarheart dude, and opted to stick my hand in his pocketses to see what he might have, on a whim. Not much, it turned out. Just a 'briarheart'. Meh, whatever... so I stole it. The bugger gasped in terminal agony, and keeled over dead as a muttonchop.

After a second or two of bemused WTF'ing, I realized the briarheart I'd just pilfered must be his magical 'heart', and I'd just basically stolen his heart... and not in a romantic kinda way. Poor bastidge. Well, at least now I know an easy way to off those vermin, without even having to get my dagger bloody.

Knew it. Get Shadow Warrior perk and steal their weapons while they're attacking you.

I never really bothered with pickpocket, even on my thieves. After this, I might just give it a go!

Reminds me of the old Ultima games where a thief stole my two handed axe while I was swinging it at him.

I can never seem to get close enough to a Briarheart to steal the Briarheart. Mainly because I always have a follower in tow and they tend to rush combat because of their overzealousness (is that even a word?).

Yep, that's a totally intended special feature for briarhearts. Pretty damn cool.

I wonder what happens if you reverse-pickpocket a different heart in before taking the original? Or put in a daedra heart? Or a human heart?

Made a character like this. I still love my Khajiit, but...you can't pickpocket in combat :sadvaultboy:

Luckily, my character is still fun, but it killed my plan to make a Khajiit monk who's such a great martial artist that he could disarm opponents in the middle of their attack.

OP: have you considered steeling his heart? That works too :ahhh:

Do it. Then tell us what happened.

This should be good.

Shame you can't pickpocket in combat. That Khajiit monk build sounds awesome.

It does not. Given the gristly ripping noise that happens when you loot a daedra heart, I suspect it is just well attached as a human heart (which oddly enough, you can't loot from a human).

You also can not pickpocket a giant's toe, or a wolf's skin. Go figure.
