Vampirism: What was expecteddisappointments

I can't speak for the rest of you, but was there a let down in regards to the infamous Vampiric disease? I was expecting something along the lines of much faster movement speed, more strength, and even maybe a small levitation ability. Aside from that, I was at least expecting to run much faster. My ideas for an improvement on becoming a vampire could include:

Faster weapon speed (like flurry with one handed weapons, but with much faster movement, maybe even a blurring effect)

Faster movement speed (again, I know, but not just restricted to sprinting, movement altogether, except for walking, which nobody does anyway, except maybe to look cool for a moment; but anyway if a player has been a vampire for a while, they should be able to have an ability that propels them across the room, much like whirlwind sprint, but if targeting an enemy, should be able to do a special attack, if in sneak mode, maybe instant kill whilst undetected)

MOST IMPORTANT: Should be able to sparkle in sunlight! Very important! (If you haven't figured out by now I am kidding, you know now)

No but seriously these are just a few ideas I have thought of, and I would really love to hear more ideas from the rest of you.

Vampirism in Skyrim is indeed pretty damn different from Oblivion. In Oblivion, vampirism benefited all classes/races but in Skyrim it's a lot more useful for a thief particularly, and maybe a necromancer. I played thief archetypes mostly in Oblivion so I didn't mourn the difference too terribly, but it is nice to not disintegrate in the sunlight. But yeah, it is really targeted more for sneaky sorts of characters which is disappointing because the cons and their workarounds to get by make it really kind of a burden for any other sort of character. The only thing that all classes can benefit from is the Resist Frost and maybe Drain Life, but that's about it. Even then, you're limited to walking around at night unless you'd like to enchant all of your stuff or use The Lady Stone.

As for what I'd like to have seen, general stat increases for at least one skill of the warrior and mage sets so it'd be possible to roll Vampire without it svcking too much as those sorts characters. Maybe some abilities get buffed at night so that it really plays up the children of the night thing. Faster running speed, detect life, vampire-only occurrences along the roads, or maybe like in Morrowind where you had some quests only open to you as a vampire. Skyrim's vampire clan is called the Volkihar, so maybe you could shack up with them.

You could argue that they made it to be more of a curse, rather than just a way to beef up your already maxed out character... but it doesn't really change gameplay that much to make it seem that was their vision.

In morrowind you were hated and most NPCs would attack you, but at least you got some major stat boosts.

In skyrim you won't really get any positive or negative changes, which is kind of dull. But mods will be able to change that, just as they made vampirism more enjoyable in MW.

I had no expectation other then if it would be in the game. When expectations aren'y fulfilled then it lets you down. The only thing I'd like to see now though is...being able to carry blood in a storage container to feast on at any moments notice.
