Armor rating help

i just created a full set of dragonplate armor + shield and i want to upgrade it. i heard the armor rating is capped at 567? (someone confirm)
i do not know how to get the rating that high up, what perks will i need and etc?

explain this to me like you would explain it to a baby :confused:

the cap is indeed 567. To meet the cap, you need to increase your smithing skill and then upgrade the armour at a blacksmith. you may need enchanted gear to raise your smithing high enough, and/or you could get some potions that will give you a boost as well. If you created the armour yourself you must already have the dragon armour perk, so thats not an issue.
