Is an Ice Dragon my only friend in this world; or how I lost

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1357854-is-my-wife-trying-to-kill-me/ I can assure you that me and Camilla are quite happy now. Faendal's death seems to have upset her, but she does not blame me and her smile is gradually coming back.

I realize that the death of our dear family friend has made me a bit on edge, but I do think these complains are calmed for. I've started to lose faith in the justice system of Skyrim. I've started to lose faith in my friends. Do I have any left? Is this the Skyrim I fought for. I was a commander in the stormcloak army. I'm a personal friend of Ulfric Stormcloak, the man who will soon rise as high king. Yet these corrupt bastards up in Markarth thinks they can get away with framing me for murder? Silly fools!

I was investigating the forsworn conspiracy, not in any official capacity mind you, but my title in itself should make these pathetic fools back off. After finding evidence against Jarl's younger brother, a Jarl I helped to power mind you, a Jarl which gave me the title of Thane, three corrupt stormcloaks killed my associate and framed it on me? REALLY? REALLY???

Of course I killed them at once. Some begging for mercy. Yes, it was a bit cruel of me, but I don't feel too sorry about it. Their screams alerted more stormcloaks who came storming in. Now, these are my people, well, maybe not in regard of heritage, but I fought with some of these men and women. Why the hell doesn't anyone recognice me? I'm Stormblade, FFS, I stood next to Ulfrik when he gave his victory speech. Of course my honor did not allow me to kill them, though my faithful companion Mjoll is a bit a psycho, so I paralyzed everyone and hot her the hell out of there before she could do any serious damage to what I assume where innocent guards.

Now, we're running through the streets, arrows coming in from all over. Markarth is a [censored] maze. Looks good, nice vacation spot, might take my wife on a trip there after I've taken out the garbage. Anyhow, me and Mjoll got split up, hopefully she didn't kill anyone. I ran for the gate and got through the outside guards who started chasing me.

I shake off all but one. Seriously, one stormcloak soldier against the Dragonborn? What is he thinking? Doesn't he realize I'm saving his life. He should be on his knees begging for forgiveness, but this little bugger sure is insistant. Of course he can't get in a punch, but he is really trying my calm. And then, in the skies, guess what I see ... a dragon. The only thing that was missing from the worst day in my life. But to my surpise the Ice Dragon takes no note of me and blasts my attacker instead.

But, as stated, this guy is insistant and runs straight through it. He just won't give up. The dragon is cirling above me now. Am I the next target? To my surprise the events repeated themselves, he blasted the soldier to near them this time, but left him alive. Incapable of continue his pursuit the soldier soon disappeared. The dragon made one more circle, almost as if he wanted to make sure I was ok, before flying away.

This Ice Dragon's sense of justice left me stunned. I wanted to thank him, but no words needed to be said between us. We knew what the other was thinking. In all this confusion I had not forgotten my enemies in Markarth. I went straight to my good friend Ulfrik at the palace of the kings. He was sleeping when I got there, so he might have been a bit off key, but he would not hear of my complaints. I was shocked. Heading down the stairs I encountered my old friend Galmar Stone-Fist.

O how position and power can change a man. He used to be a fierce warrior, but now he's just a corrupt quill pusher like the rest of them. I tried to talk to him about the conspiracy and the false alligations, but instead he boosted of his new position and how he was in charge of overlooking the Jarl's willingness to follow orders. Well, the Jarl's little brother is corrupting the entire town of Markarth, wouldn't that fall under your juristiction, Galmar??? But no, he too brushed me off. My heart sank.

There was only one thing to do. I had to take care of it myself! But as soon as we (me & Mjoll) entered the city I was apprehended by the guards once more. This time seemingly innocent and mislead souls. Of course I explained myself at once, but the idiots did not believe me. Shouldn't they think to themselves: "Hey, why would the BFF of the future high king go about killing innocent people. Shouldn't we listen to him when he says he's been framed. MAYBE HE GOT EVIDENCE TO BACK IT UP??? ..." But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Who are these idiots??? So again, too save their pathetic lives, I gotta run away ... AGAIN. And again Mjoll disappears. That woman really can't keep up. This time there's far more than one mislead stormcloak soldier after me, it seems to be the entire legion.

Than I see him. My old friend the Ice Dragon, circling in a distance. These guys are not giving up, and their arrows are piercing my skin. Oh, why am I such a nice guy? And guess who's suddenly attacking from the front? The friggin' forsworn!!! Where am I too go? Then, suddenly, my old friend the Ice Dragon lands right in front of me. I am a bit vary of course, you never know with dragons, he could suddenly decide to kill me. But no, this dragon knows the way of justice! And after what happened I will forever respect him, or her, far more than any justice system of this land.

First he blasts the stormcloaks behind me. Not killing them mind you, but certainly slowing them them. I throw him a grateful look before heading for the river. I notice the forsworn coming closer. I have no clue how many they are, but as they come towards me the dragon turns around and blast them to their deaths. The stormcloaks being nowhere to be seen I hige up in the mountain until I see Mjoll looking for me down in the river while signaling me with her torch.

Guess I better head back to Riften to clear my head. Thanks for listening, wouldn't want to upset Camilla with all this, particularly this close to Faendal's death. But I'll tell you, that Ulfric is sure as hell getting his head screamed off the next time I see him. Some king he'll make. You know you're in trouble when an ice dragon is the only one standing up for you. Justice system my ass.

Well, it should be pointed out that everything I've described actually did happen in-game.

(seriously)

Anyone else gotten their ass saved by a dragon?

I've had dragons help me out at times, but they also attack me right after that.

You're a good writer by the way, I'm hoping you'll be posting more :)
