Archery sounds

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 2:41 am

Everytime I watch a video of Skyrim and a guy using a bow, as he draws the arrow back theres a sound. It lasts a few seconds and it's like the arrow rubbing against the bow? In any case, I would put a video and a time in that video to explain better but that might be against the rules.

But when I play the game I don't hear that sound and for some reason this really bug's me. Any ideas?

Just checked, when I draw back my bow, there is a momentary hollow sound as the arrow contacts the bow, and then just the sinewy sound of the string stretching back through the pull, after that.

I think thats it, but I never hear that. Could I possibly link a vid to establish firmly what I'm talking about and then take it off straight after?

That is what I hear in the linked video too, except it sounds like the clunk of the arrow plays just after the sinewy pullback sound starts.

Are you saying your not hearing the sounds that are on the video?
The video sounds fairly normal to me.
There may be different sounds for different bows, arrows or combnatios of bows and arrows, but I haven't really detected any myself.

There may also be something with what kind of system you play on and if there is stereo,or even if the sound or stereo is set up properly.

Heard a clunk most of the times you drew back an arrow, sometimes it seemed to happen well after the arrow was already being drawn back, but it was there. Not always, but then when you're rapid-firing in combat, sometimes not all the sounds get played every time. If you never heard it, then it's the sound setup for your game, or the sound production hardware/speakers on your computer, that are lacking.
