So the dual wield glitch.

Has there been any word on bethesda saying they are going to fix the issue where both weapons don't appear sheathed on our characters? I really like dual wielding, but it'd kind on immersion breaking to pull an axe from my ass.

I dont recall it being a "glitch" as there is only one bind point on the skeleton for each weapon type (Sword, dagger, mace, axe, Bow/2H)

I would like to see both, but i dont see this happening via simple patches.

  • New kill moves and animations for melee weapons
This is the closest info on weapons I could see. It's rather vague and I don't know if it just killcams or the draw animation as well.

Here's the link to the patch notes:

so it's beth being lazy? how hard can it be to place a weapon anchor on the other hip? or at least make it so if you use two one handed weapons the left handed one sheaths where a 2 handed weapon would? If World of warcraft can do it it can't be that hard.

I'm sure they have more important issues to fix first.

Funny thing is I had a glitch with a character when I was wearing Ancient Nord Armour, and using one Ancient Nord Sword and one Ancient Nord Axe. They sometimes would sheat on each sides, and it looked great, but when I would use the weapons one of them would still be sheated (like I had three weapons, two in my hands, one sheated). I never managed to figure out how to reproduce this glitch with other armours or weapons, and like I mentionned it didn't always happened. It does look better with one weapon on each side.

With my current character if I get Ancient Nord Armour I'll try to do it again and post picks.

Absolutely, they should have two weapon holsters, but break the immersion? Come on, in a game where a person can carry far more than is humanly possible, can't you just suspend your disbelief for that one second? When I pick up a troll skull and store it, it doesn't bother me that there isn't a huge bulge in my pocket (not the side pocket at least).

Maybe I'm just from too old a generation (way back in a bygone era called the 1990s), but playing videogames is all about suspending your disbelief. I think your comment was a little bit out of perspective, personally.

I know, but I'm a dual wielding character and would you know, actually like to see my weapons in 3rd person.

Watch as you unsheath weapons in first person mode.... you left hand weapon comes out of your sleeve as you reach around to pull the other with your right hand.

And you can, when you're using them. I acknowledged all there was to acknowledge, I'm just saying that a little perspective would go a long way. If this is that much of a problem, well you need to work on suspending your disbelief.

I encountered a glitch with my Orc char wearing fur armor where an iron axe that I didn't own appeared on the left side of his waist.

Are you sure that the char ani wasn't intended to have both in the first place..? (I've noticed that swords are worn on the left him, maces and axes on the right.)

Or maybe the bug fixes they included? The killcams were probably already created from game jam.

The other day while duel wielding a mace and a dagger I could see both of them on my characters waist. Sadly I switched to a bow and when I switched back I could only see my mace sheathed :(

It'd be as simple to patch as adding new animations. They'd just need to update the skeleton. Since it'd just be adding a new bind point, they wouldn't have to rebind all the models. The hard part is that they might have to redo the animations to actually draw both weapons from their respective places.

I know it must sound trivial, maybe even a little trite, but this killed Dual Wielding for me. I like seeing the iron on my hip. Having the off-hand materialize out of nowhere jerks me out of the experience. This is also why I could never play Morrowind in Third Person.

I doubt it's easy to fix though... This doesn't seem like something that would be simple, yet overlooked.

Like someone stated, axes and maces go on the right and swords on the left, so the animations already exist for this. You might have trouble with two swords or two axes, but one axe (or mace) and one sword should be possible, like the glitch I previously mentionned with my Ancient Nord stuff.

Hi,

so I wasn`t dreaming after all. Wearing Nomos Ranger Armour I saw myself with both my sword and dagger visible at the same time for a short while.
The best part is they were both hanging on my left side which I found extremely cool. As the short dagger can be easily drawn with the left hand while hanging on the left side. Now imagine this combined with a functional side quiver...

So if someone is able to reproduce this on a permanent basis that would be great indeed.
