Skyrim has not a single bookshop in any of its towns. Not a single one. This is a great shame for those of us looking for books without having to steal them or look in the misc section of general traders.

Oblivion had several bookshops. There should be atleast 1 place in Skyrim housing the largest collection of books. The college of winterhold has one, but it's pretty lackluster. Most of the book cabinets cant even be opened. Bookshops add a lot to roleplaying, like my dwemer ruin archeologist wanted to research the dwemer as much as possible before venturing into one of the dangerous ruins, a big library of sorts would have helped with this.

completely agree would love to have at least 1 large book store.more stores in general would be nice.i miss the days of going from shop to shop to buy specific goods ie morrowind..altho some of u probably just think this is tedious and unneccessary

There is one in Winterhold, in the college.

I doubt that Nords are big into books, and those who are would have a hard time getting business. The libraries in the College of Winterhold and the Bard's College serve as the sources of knowledge for those interested. I never personally used the bookshops in Oblivion, save for one time when I needed to visit one for the main quest.
