What is it?

I'm just curious, but why was the PS3 version so gimped? I'm not trying to start a flame war or "my console is better than yours" BS, I seriously would like a discussion on why the PS3 version was so riddled with bugs that apparently no one at Bethesda seemed to notice.

I've heard everything ranging from it's due to the PS3 hardware, Bethesda not properly Q&A-ing the PS3 version, to the most frequent: "It's so big they can't test for everything."

I understand it's impossible to test for every bug and glitch; that's impractical. But the PS3 issue goes beyond being restricted by scope alone.

If it is a hardware issue then how come other developers can crank out stellar games that are more graphically intensive (Uncharted) and not have massive problems at all?

It's my personal, unprofessional opinion that the developer is in control of their product and their familiarity with the hardware they're working with, and some games seem to receive more care than others. Is Bethesda not that experienced with the PS3 architecture? Are they not 100% comfortable developing games on PS3 since that is the console of choice where their games have the most problems? What is it?

I'm not complaining. I'm not here to troll or bash Bethesda. I truly love their games and style. It's just a shame the PS3 was so blatantly gimped from the start. Having said that, I'm very lucky that I have not experienced any game breaking problems or degree of severity that other PS3 players have. But I feel for them because I can only imagine how much it svcks to not be able to enjoy this wonderful game because Bethesda didn't do the best they could for the PS3 version before making it available for mass retail.

I've experienced next to no bugs on my PS3 version of the game, although I've heard many a PC user complain of game-breaking bugs. I love Skyrim on the PS3 ... And I have absolutely no idea why people complain about it!

That's exactly my point and only confounds the matter further. Some PS3 players report no problems (or very little), and others say their game is damn near unplayable. The game isn't a sentient being so it can't pick and choose which systems to work on and which not.

think it has more todo with overreaction and the urge of some people to post something negative
PC users probably had more problems and still have with the game than console users , but with each patch the game improves for all users and that is good
