Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 12:09 pm

Hey everyone,
I was on the forums and i couldn't seem to find any discussions about DLC. So i created this so that anyone and everyone could put thier thoughts onto the table and maybe if Bethesda see something that we all agreeably would like have in the game then it might actually happen.

Fire away ! would love to see what other peoples ideads are. :D

I would like to see something maybe involving sailing, and pirates. There is a massive port in Solitude after all.

And of course, maybe something with the Thalmor, like another great war.

I doubt they will make an Expansion that lets you go to a different province, or even a part of one, I hope that it would be Hammerfell. I have been Dying to see the Redguard home in this generation ever since I first played a Redguard. (In Oblivion)

Or best yet, A DLC were we get too wipe out all the Orcs in Tamriel forever.......... because I hate them :P

I want Spears back.
Also Halberds... and Arbalests...

And TINUR'S HOPTOAD.

And Mysticism...

............. and quite honestly, I give up. Bethesda have made a game about hitting dragons with swords. It is pretty much all downhill from here.

DLC should explore the game world more. Rather than going to another realm or provence, DLC should add new dungeons and explore existing ideas in the game. Think how Tribunal, while giving a whole new city to explore, also mainly gave us new insite into the politics of Morrowind, the inner workings of the Church, etc. Also think how KoTN gave meaning to the Ayleid ruins and the Alessian Rebellian.
My dream DLC would be one that let us explore the Dwemer in depth, or the Falmer in depth, or something like that. Put stories behind this random killers. (Falmer more so as the Dwemer were heavily explored in Morrowind already.)

I would like to see Orsinium. It is a relatively small area and it would give us a chance to explore a whole new culture that we probably wont see in future games, given the size of the region. Plus, it is conveniently close to Skyrim.

Don't want to be a party pooper, but haven't we seen this thread at least once every day? Perhaps one sticky should suffice so people can dump their ideas there?

Anyhow:

All I want for my DLC is expanded faction quests, quantity and quality, and a true, proper in-story journal worthy of being called one. If they add that, they can have all my money.

I would love an DLC that allows playing as Jarl:
Thankful for saving Sykrim from the Dragons, the Jarls decide to award you with your own Skyrim province to found the new city of "Dragonborne". Here you act as the Jarl of Dragonborne with tasks (quests) like these:
  • find a worthy thane and establish a powerful city ward
  • attract settlers, merchants and priests to build up your city (houses, stores, temples)
  • protect your city and province (from raids, war and other threats)
  • protect your neighbours (optional help quests)
  • improve diplomacy and trade with other Jarls
  • found a dynasty (get married and have children)
  • rise, protect and train your children to become worthy successors
  • with help of your priests try to get support of the ancient gods (of good or evil) to find the lost parts of the ancient "Dragonsword of Skyrim" to be reforged (combination of the Holy Grail and Lord of the Rings).
  • ultimate goal: become "King of Skyrim" via diplomacy (election) or war (aggression)
In such a way, a Play as Jarl - DLC could offer a variety of new, interesting quests.

I would like a new land like Shivering Isles with new questline, new animals, maybe sailing a boat and fishing, boarding pirate ships... something to do with Skyrim as a seafare nation.

Brining the fight to the Thalmor
Build your own house(s) and/or town
Able to go to another providence
Be able to build or make your own army
New weapons (Whips,Flails,Halberds, etc.)
Updated combat (Mabye)

OK.... so it didn't get closed.....

I'll then add my two pennies.....

I think DLC where you restore Talos back to his rightful standing in Skyrim would be a plausable concept.
You get the Shivering Isles sort of experience to go to some "other worldly" land find Talos and convince him through your deeds that he should return to Skyrim (because he feels Nords turned their back on him why go back).
You would have the dealings with a God figure so you could introduce God style and God powered villian.
You get to involve the Thalmor more and maybe even throw them out of Skyrim allowing the designers to acheive a questline that has portions rooted in vanilla game (like Point Lookout from Fallout 3 which was highly rated for this fact).
It could easily be written to accomidate the players choices in the Civil War and MQ questlines.
It could easily serve as a vehicle to be given unique items as gifts from Talos.
It would be highly lore frendly, only expanding lore and not creating new lore.
It would be cool to see in Talos' land... Nord Ruins not ruined but pristine and with vitality adding contextual depth to the vanilla game. (Think Dragon statues where claws came from)

That's what I would propose if I worked at Beth.... if they want to contact me I have a lot of it written in my head.

More and longer factions, like the Vigilants of Stendarr.
More enemies, both stronger versions of current ones and new ones added.
More areas would be cool.

Agreed, I like this, this would be included with my Play as Jarl - DLC suggestion above.
Overall, while I like battles, I also would like some more civil, diplomatic gameplay.

Millions and millions of ways to kill + kill cam.

They have to make up for not having guns. Otherwise I'll never leave New Vegas.
