heh that's happened to me a few times, i just ended up putting weapons in their inventory, assuming your pick pocket skill is high enough that may work.

Bad thing about storm cloaks is there nords and nords think very highly of there self's they think they can kill people without weapons of course the high elf think's before they fight and always win.
